Are you suggesting that you're more in touch with the likes of Farage and the Eton crowd, many of whom have never actually had to scrimp and save or rely on the benefits system? I’ve voted for Labour twice in GEs (there have been 7 since I’ve been of voting age, so not voted in 5 of them), can’t even exactly remember which years I voted in. Also voted to Remain in the EU, and Green for a local election once.
Not bothered the rest of the time. Never feel like there’s a party that is anything like I want in govt.

So, not voting has done you no favours at all. Lack of social mobility is one of the biggest curses we have. I was lucky coming from a council house in Ashton. But I was focussed on what I wanted to do and consequently moved a number of times with the job. The same applies to my 4 siblings. I recognise this is not the norm but proof it can happen.
