Great news. Thanks Tolm.

Would sacking him now leave him free to sign for another club or would his registration still be held by us until any court case?

Holding on to his registration is a whole different legal argument.

But there is not a club on earth at present who would take the chance of paying him his wages and end up in court v City, on the hook for his original £50m price tag.

He is not only in breach by his refusal to play, his actions have now impacted on the asset value to ourselves.

Tevez may have earned a few quid, but it's fair to assume him and Kia won't be able to scrape that type of dough together.

This will sound crazy, but this is his 'Garry Cook moment'.

His actions and subsequent interviews, seemingly innocuous to his dim-witted skull, have just signed his death warrant.

City's chance to nail Kia once and for all, i bet they didn't think it would be this easy and happen so quickly.........Christmas has come early :-)

I think even if we do sue him we won't see any money, he'll retire to Argentina and live off what he's earned so far. He may well have played his last game of football, let alone his last game for City.

But we won't be paying his wages and with a bit of creative accounting the amount of a law suit might count as income toward FFP, but the bad debt might not count as a loss.

Not entirely sure about his last game of football but I agree with the rest of your summation Moomba.

If we sack him for breach of contract we will still have to take a big hit on any transfer fee we would have got if he sold him on.

Revisiting the Corinthians deal in January assuming there was some substance to it in August will probably be the best deal for the club and avoid a legal stouch which really in the end will suit lawyers but not what the owners really want lingering on for too long.

Their is always another manager on the planet who believes he can handle a difficult player better than the previous one he played under and despite the unsavoury incident he still can play the game at 27.

He couldn't have put it more on a silver platter if he had snorted a kilo of marching powder from it ;)

Re: Carlos Tevez [Merged]

But according to this, he never refused to play and he's still more then happy to give his all for the club..

Re: Carlos Tevez [Merged]

Interestingly I caught a snippet on 5Live last night saying that UEFA may take action against Tevez too. If a team had refused to play the rules state they can be punished somehow, so that may also apply to an individual player.

Re: Carlos Tevez [Merged]

Yeah that's what he said once he realised Mancini wasn't on some bollocks and that he was royally fucked and put himself in an untenable position.

We have to understand, guys...there is no loss on some future massive transfer fee.

It doesn't exist in the real world. His actions have ensured NOBODY will pay what his previous was.

He has no real value, hence, legal action is a no-brainer, it has to be. We stand a better chance in court than the open market of getting money back.
