Does anybody feel “different” since Istanbul?

Since I never expected City to ever do more than to make me smile by getting 40 points, and perhaps by periodically putting up a heroic fight against Utd, everything better is still gravy. So I don’t feel different, but THIS feels different if only because our owner, Pep and these players wanted — and more importantly deserved — it so badly. And I feel happy for the born-and-bred two-plus generation Mancs who were around for the most difficult days. AND it’s nice that idiot fans of red sides don’t have the “no CL” stick to beat the club with — they are out of anything but the lamest of putdowns now. When the final whistle blew in Istanbul it really was a scream in relief and exhaustion I let out as much as it was joy.

Having had 4 or 5 weeks of eating and drinking too much leading up to Istanbul, the come down was horrendous, full of a cough and cold and felt like crap. That said, I haven’t stopped watching reruns of games, interviews and celebrations. I was quite literally worn out by the end of the Champions League Final, and still had the nightmare of the s…… b…. to negotiate to get back to Taksim. (I still can’t bear the word bus or shuttle)
So @jrb I feel your pain of the weight gain, but there has also been a big weight lifted off our shoulders too. Not quite ready for the season to start yet, but certainly getting there.

When Alexander The Great saw the breadth of his domain he wept, for there were no more worlds to conquer.

Ah yes eventually but that night in Istanbul was like Alexander's The Great's first conquest, there's still so much more to conquer and so many more victories to enjoy.
