Does anybody remember shopping here ?

I remember purchasing a souvenir ball and the lady behind the counter pointed out that it said Manchster City and did I still want it.

Didn't we get something like 10k a year from the franchise until Franny Lee booted them out?

It really was a second rate operation but the lady behind the counter (sorry can't remember her name) was a proper blue. Used to help out at Junior Blues meetings and was involved in the match day coaches IIRC.
She was still working in the city store a couple of years ago don't know about now

^ When we moved to the new stadium she took the job upstairs above the shop fronting the museum, we used to go up for a chat. She retired before the museum shut, but still goes to every match - has her seat next to the away team dug out, similar view as her dad would've had when he stood at the side of the tunnel all those years. Plus she's now related to a city legend (even though to most of us she's one as well!)

Hehe that kind of mistake still happens, or at least did in 2002/03! In the last season at Maine Road we had a range of mugs on sale with former players on them.. I noticed one set of mugs were £2.99 instead of £5.99..... Yeah, cos they said "Alan Oaks"!!! They were relying on the fan not to notice and to just grab a bargain ;)

Wow that first picture looks very old, way before my time.

I remember going inside the building resembling the second picture though.
Well i say building but even at 12yrs old it was small.

Can't remember buying anything though, never had the money.
Stole a few things though... Don't tell Mansour

We have come a long way
Remember it well,& them training tops 3rd from left, bought one off these. But what was amusing it was the first time i used a hole in the wall card.got £100 out(5x20notes) anyway bought the top then the guy behind the counter said their dodgy notes.i said cant be just got them from the banks hole in the wall.he said one moment see what the manager says.10mins later said he still on the phone, and just proceeded with the check-out,(never trusted ATM for quite awhile after that)

He's trying to spin it as something else now

Thought i was in santas grotto being in the old shop! Just having somewhere that sold city gear - was amazing back then to me - we're all spoilt now ;)
And i love Janice, me and my mum were the last ever customers in the maine road shop, on the very last day that city owned maine road before it went to the council (if i remember right that would mean 30th june 2003, council from 1st july), we spent an hour sat in there talking with her til closing time, she was gutted tbh, i'm not surprised with all her family memories..

While i'm on here, wish someone from the council would fix the slab that covers the time capsule at maine road, it's in stans name and when i was there a few weeks back it's broke and been slid off.. A big deal was made of opening it with Janice and Tony Book etc there, but it's just been trashed.

Look at the state of that, what a shame. Maybe getting that replaced is a cause that we as Bluemooners can start and champion and perhaps try and raise a few quid and gather support?

Do you mean the one half way down Maine Road opposite the Main Stand? (and not the one on the corner of Maine Road / Claremont Road)
I bought a few large badges from there, I still have a couple.... one says ''Sid Vicious wouldn't be seen dead watching Man United''
Defo not the one on the corner but it was opposite the Social Club and was open from the late 60`s to mid `70`s and the more I think about it the owner was a Paul Doherty who was a Producer at Granada. They used to sell large photos of the players as I had many a one on my bedroom.
Any of the older brigade shed ant light on it ?
