Does anyone get on with their neighbours?

We live in a sort of cul-de-sac and all our neighbours are lovely :)

the bloke next door to us is alright if he's on his own but his wife is the most miserable, up her own arse cow i've ever met
Are you attractive bluegirl74? Bloke's friendly when wifey's not there, she's unfriendly.
He's probably made a comment about you and she's seen her arse.
Women don't like that.
I know these things.

To the right they are ok. Pleasant. They have a couple of teenage ladswho can occasionally be rowdy with their mates but nothing major. To the left I have new neighbours who moved in yesterday. Spoke briefly and they seem very pleasant. To the left them is a decent bloke whose son knocks about with my eldest. Across from me are one house of decent neighbours but the other two I've never spoke to other than once when my sons ball went into her garden and she moaned.

You can be pleasant without being full on drinking buddies. It's easier to be pleasant than to try and scuttle off without being seen in your own garden.

We spent two years at our last house and only really got on with the woman next door. A few people in the street then thought that the Big Lunch street party would be a good idea and it worked well for the street as lots of people now know each other and stop for a chat.

Mrs DT's brother's street shut it to traffic once a month so the kids can play out in the street and get to know their neighbours.

To the right we've got a pretty nervy couple (she works for the police doing admin or something). Then to our left we have a nice middle aged guy and his whippet. A few doors down is a nice girl who runs a pet sitting business and across from her a really nice elderly couple who love Jesus.

Blues to left of me, blues to the right of me, and we're all season ticket holders, that was some fuckin party we had last may.
