Does this forum reflect our matchgoing support?

I certainly think a lot more women go to the match then come on here. Otherwise it's a pretty broad cross section. All ages, IQs and levels of patience/rage are present and correct.
Mind you, I do think some on here overestimate the forum's importance. I know blues who have been going for donkey's years and have never even heard of this place.
Doesn't hinder my enjoyment any, though. It's a brilliant forum.

Like all forums it gives a platform for lifes losers to air their views on an equal footing with lifes winners. So a lot of the quiet people out there, the
Mice, the angry, the bitter and the defeated, are able to communicate in a way they can't in the real world.

And the turds always rise to the top on any forum; an ill-informed thread will garner more attention than a well informed one.

Nope. Some good stuff on here but overstocked with herberts claiming to be king of all City fans based on how many posts they've got/when they joined/how blue their underpants are

I believe that it does, to an extent.

It's bound to really...

South Stand - The Cabal. A lot of standing about with arms folded complaining...

"Kippax Corner" - Happy Clappers who sometimes have too much beer and go too far...

Level 3 - Just happy with the view, join in for the big games.

Family Stand - Don't come on a night.

Colin Bell Stand Level 2 - Senior Mods.

Press Box - The Bloggerati and ITKs

Away Fans - There are a few who are generally welcome and join in the banter.

Showsec - Unwelcome Rag WUMs. (Both quiet after recent games)

To a certain extent is does.

@Damocles.........do we have any data on the demographics of where the bluemooners come from and if they are ST holders or match day goers etc? Might be an interesting project to find out.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk</a>

Statistics Summary for bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk

There are 60,950 sites with a better three-month global Alexa traffic rank than Bluemoon. Compared with all internet users, the site appeals more to men; its audience also tends to consist of both uneducated and highly educated, childless users under the age of 45 who have incomes under $100,000. Search engines refer about 17% of visits to it. The site's visitors view an average of 9.3 unique pages per day. Bluemoon can be found in the “Manchester City” category.

After the UK most of our visitors come from Pakistan 9.8% which is a surprise to me to be honest

The Alexa stats are completely inaccurate, in pretty much every respect. In fact, I'll give a prize (not sure what yet) to anyone who can name the top ten countries our traffic comes from, in the correct order. There's a challenge for you.

To help you on your way, 78% of the traffic comes from the UK (I could break it down city by city if I could be arsed).

Back to the original question, personally I think Bluemoon doesn't really reflect our matchgoing support in terms of actual demographics, but I think there's a sizeable enough number of people on here that it gives you a decent feel of what the fans are thinking.

Obviously on particular issues it can be miles out, but generally you get a feel for the zeitgeist of the club. In fact, using that phrase probably alienates this site from about 87.6% of match going blues...

Very true

I have a mate who has held a season ticket for about 20 years ( he's 34 like me)

And doesn't post - although I think he has looked cause I told him too :)

I don't think a lot of the opinions are extreme to be honest. After the Bayern game you didn't get a lot of people saying things like: "Oh, forgive and forget i say, he's a really good striker afterall."
Ofcourse with that being said its a lot easier for people to be in your face and confrontational with arguments and to sometimes find insults directed at those who disagree with you, but hey that's the internet.
