Some interesting comments....but what if next time that dog rips the head of a baby in a pram? never happens does it? .....in a way i am glad only a dog died this time ....need to change the law as far too many dog attacks and owners who dont give a fuck.... IMHO.

Well it's nature is to attack other dogs if bred nasty, ofc it could attack babies but that is bye the bye really.
A proper nasty dog that would attack a baby as it would another dog would attack anything probably and needs to be restricted from the public full stop.
Most focus on other dogs though regarding aggression if they are simply badly trained uneven dogs.

The owner should get life as he took on the dog and is responsible for it should it kill a human.
Even if provoked my dog will not leave heel unless i tell him to.
If my dog attacked anyone or anything beyond defending his own immediate safety it would because i told him to and nothing else.

its the owners fault. If you cant and dont know how to look after that type of dog then this kind of thing will happen

Well you can see by the photo the amount of control she had over the animal, I just thank god it went for the dog rather than the kids.

The sad thing is if you had heard about the story but not seen the picture I bet most people would have described the dog and owner pretty accurately

A dog has been seized by police after a smaller dog was decapitated in an attack which occurred in front of young children in Warrington.

The dog responsible for the fatal attack on Saturday is being examined by Cheshire Police to identify the breed.

The incident was reported at 16:40 BST, after a Pomeranian dog called Elvis was attacked in a garden on Kingsway South and died of its injuries.

Ch Insp Darren Hebden described it as a "horrendous attack".
