Live round the corner from the attack, must go round and sign the book of condolence. In all seriousness all these Staffie type dogs should be put down, they are ticking timebombs even under the so called control of their owners.

that's from someone who obviously doesn't understand the breed

Exactly they aren't really violent dogs, I was round a mates once and his Staffie woman was if anything over friendly. I wouldn't own that type of dog though because they are not to my taste.

Don't bite chaps.

We are all ticking time bombs then.
As we speak a dog whose head is larger than my own breathing down my neck.
If it bit me my neck would snap like a twig.
If i turned round and smacked him one and bit him he would bark and growl but shy away and shit himself, would your best mate even tolerate that ?.

Loads on here have staffs and kids and the only pics i see are the daft "nanny dogs".

If a male dog is after a shag then you the owner need reenforce the role of the dog and that is of a beta male aka non breeding.
All you need do is take his toy out of his gob a few times and stare him down to show whatever he has you can take.
No need to be chopping their bollocks of at all.
They will still want to shag girls but they won't cross you or be more aggressive.

Vinnie could fit to Toby's dog in his mouth but he doesn't and I trust him, I'll happily put my hand in his mouth knowing he won't bite same with my daughter or any small child he doesn't know

My wife and nine year old son were bringing shopping into our house (in Warrington) and a passing Staffie type dog ran into our house and attacked our Miniature Schnauzer. It grabbed her by the neck and was ragging her. It just wouldn't let go. I had to kneel on the Staffie, pinning it down by the neck, whilst trying to prize it's jaw open, but it wouldn't let go. The struggle went on for about five minutes (it may have just seemed that long though) and eventually the dog slackened its jaw slightly and I freed our dog. Wife and sons comforted and looked after our wounded dog, leaving me in the porch with the Staffie locked in. Suddenly, all the aggression disappeared and the dog turned into a quivering, cowering, submissive wreck, which I pitied. So I let it go and went to see its owner.

The owner lives at the end of our cul-de-sac. She was apologetic. She explained that she got the dog from the Cheshire Dogs Home a week previously, but could not exercise it as she was disabled. Hence she let it out unattended. The following day the vet said our dog was lucky to be alive as the other dog's teeth were millimetres from our dog's jugular vein. The police went to see her and thought restorative justice was the way forward, and they ordered her to pay our vet's bill. She paid one instalment of £8, leaving us £72 out of pocket.

I asked the dogs home why they let a disabled woman have a Staffie. I got the impression they weren't too bothered about who got what dog, so long as they were being rehoused. The dog was returned to the home a few days later.

You can guess where my sympathies lie here. These dangerous breeds need proper looking after. Yes, they are sometimes great with kids, and very friendly, but they can turn nasty very quickly, and the damage is done before the owners realise what's happened.

I fully agree with your sentiments, however what is a dangerous breed ?

I know a patterdale terrier (tiny thing) but vicious as fuck, same goes for a border collie near the local shops.
I do sympathize with you fully however you can't say x breed is nasty.
Some breeds have it easily instilled in them however the Jack Russell firmly belongs in this department also.

I for example would never let my boy breed with some wankers bullypit or staff etc etc, if he does it will be with people i know to trust.
This is all part of good dog ownership, you get wankers breeding for "status pets" and all this bollocks.
Batter the twats that do this so they can't barely move let alone train dogs to be nasty.

If i said to my bullypit "protect" and pointed at your kids he would let them pull his ears of and protect them with his life.
Even if they picked up things he is trained to attack like bats etc.

Everytime a dog attacks it's the same old rhetoric, dogs that are not mean't to be around kids or small dogs, dogs used as weapons, unsuitable dogs for urban living,it's time to stop talking and do something.
A little less conversation,a little more action,please.

What action would that be ?

Why do humans feel so above ourselves that we can view an animal killing another animal as wrong?

It's not a nice thing to happen and I love my girlfriends pomm's even if that makes me slightly homosexual lol, but its life at the end of the day. You want to stop animals killing each other? Why don't you stop fish swimming as well :D

But I understand the fact that the dogs are people's posessions, hence they are their responsibility, a dog can kill and it can't be judged for that, but the owners should try and prevent it.

The concept of life and all it's little bits and bobs are very confusing.
