It should NEVER be forgotten that a dog is not human with human thinking patterns. It is a canine with canine instincts. This doesn't mean that they will all act the same way as each other just as humans will not act the same way with other humans. What has to be born in mind is that a dog will have a simple way of looking at it's existence, one which is based around food, territory, procreation and pack acceptance. Neutering pets eliminates some of these needs, and most will live a happy and placid existence, but there are others which are in the hands of the clueless who do not understand canine behaviour. Most dog owners on here will have had to face up to the problem of an untrained and uncontrolled animal in the alpha male mode running up to their own dogs and being a flaming nuisance, sometimes turning into a fight, while some clueless owner is standing yards away and trying to convince everyone that this dog is "Only playing".
