Yeah I'd be pretty suspicious of this tbh. Didn't get binned when under massive pressure to do so, but now all of a sudden just has to go when under no increased pressure at all? Feels like a distraction to me, can't imagine he's not still pulling the strings, whether he's officially in a position or not. If anything, just moving out of the line of fire when all the dubious hirings/contracts to all his mates finally gets an airing.
