Er how about both parents sick as a starting point. And it’s all about whether or not you think he did the right thing as a parent. I think he has bent the rules to the limit and not been the brightest but the witch-hunt is just ridiculous. Maybe the press should also go after most of my neighbours who have been doing whatever they want pretty much every day for 10 weeks. There wouldn’t even be a debate about their behaviour. More importantly looks like retail opening again in three weeks, surely that’s a more important story to cover. Infections reducing, as are deaths but let’s concentrate all our efforts on something that happened six to eight weeks ago that may or may not have breached guidelines

There are plenty of other idiots out there. And plenty of other valid stories.

I am asking you a question as to why his circumstances were so different to the other households with the virus and children.

Your answer is "both parents sick".

Well, when the decision and journey were made, he wasn't sick. And in the majority of households where one parent has the virus, the other will have had it too. Or do you think that people don't routinely transmit it to those they live with?

You must be able to come up with a more credible answer than that. You seem desperate to avoid admitting that his circumstance was no different to thousands of other,s o at least put some thought into it.

Most right minded parents, in a panic, would do exactly what he did, whatever the rules were imho.

Has he fucked up other aspects of it ? Yes probably, but not that bit.

Except that most parents around the country in the same position didn't and took the minor risk that they would manage to care for their children. Because they understood that this risk (of being incapacitated and incapable of caring for their child) was low enough to be second place to the greater good of not moving around whilst infected.

Although I like the way Starmer conducts himself, his downfall in the GE if he was leader would have been his stance on Brexit.

It would have been for many for sure, but take me for example. I voted labour knowing full well that would likely cost me Brexit. Nobody wants Brexit more than me. I just wanted a Labour government more. (and I'm as far from a Starmer fan as you can imagine)

That said, I'd give my right arm for a Starmer lead government today. Johnson is a dangerously stupid and inept clown.
