Of course it does, it shows that whoever got in didn’t really have public support. Instead we have an emboldened government who think they can get away with what they want to because they have the weight of opinion behind them (worryingly, they might still be vindicated in thinking that)

Bud the state of our political landscape is dire, and it started with having an opposition to this govt that the electorate didn't trust. We have to appreciate that not every voter is a tactical voter and in most cases they have a binary choice.

No it started with both a poor government and a poor opposition. I agree on the sentiment of the second point though.
