Anyone see the BBC NEWS story yesterday that 8% of Americans cannot read and write or are considered functionally illiterate to the point that they cannot hold a job?! The country is being run by the rich who get wealthy off the urban centers full of Democrats, then turn to their base of “rugged individuals” in the hinterlands who believe that the cities are full of welfare queens (after all, that’s what RWNJ radio and Faux News tell them) and their tax money is going to Cadillacs and cellphones for the “urban poor” while they toil in the fields, and tell them Washington isn’t helping them. Then, the R’s get rid of the Estate Taxes (under the guise of saving THEIR family farms!!!) and the illusion is complete and everyone with a brain scratches it while everyone without a brain wears their #MAGA hat to plough the South 40!

In case you haven’t noticed, not a lot of that going around in the States these days. Throw in religion, fake news, and the likes of Bannon and Facebook creating a cyberworld that doesn’t really exist (but those that believe it don’t leave their town, let alone their county, state or country) and we appear to be a long way from ever getting back on an even keel.
You know there are big problems when people actually write articles and do workshops for people about how to present facts in such a way that they won't offend people. Facts have become offensive? People can now simply choose not to believe facts and believe that denying them is a worthy position.
