You clearly put a lot of thought into this, but give me a fucking break man. Donald Trump's entire political strategy is dehumanization of the other. He's a guy with a 30 year track record of being a racist and who won* the election almost exclusively by exploiting the fact that America is becoming a majority minority country and preying on the fears that said minorities are going to take away Good American Jobs and ruin American life (they'll probably rape your daughter also, nudge nudge). His policies since he attained the White House have done absolutely nothing at all for the people who supported him and his administration spends every single day shameless gas lighting away this fact. If you support Trump at this point, you're either an idiot, misinformed, or an asshole. It's difficult to put any other way.

You make the mistake of me agreeing completely with damo as me agreeing with Trump or him agreeing with Trump and i can guarantee i dont, never will but i agree with Damocles opinion of why he was voted in.

Until the so called mainstream politicians address the concerns of millions around the world you can expect more of the same im afraid.

Don't blame the electorate, blame those elected who for years have failed people.

I disagree. While I think most of the Trump supporters online are trolls more or less, I think the vast majority of people who actually pulled the lever did so in good faith and are either uninformed or were mislead by Fox News and the rest of the conservative media establishment. As Democrats we clearly need to do a better job reaching out to these people and addressing some of the more legitimate fears raised by globalization, changing demographics, etc. Call me a liberal elitist all you want but there is a huge distinction between what I'm saying and the vile nonsense that comes out of Trump's mouth.

But that IS elitism!

You're saying almost the exact same thing as Trump. He's pointing at a big group of people and saying "these lot are not like us, they're defective morally", whereas you're doing the exact same thing but saying they lack the intelligence of, by implication, people like you because they voted another way.

I cannot believe that I'm having to actually sit and argue that 60 odd million oeople aren't stupid or immoral because of how they cast a ballot. The world's gone absolutely mad.

My point here is that all of this is predicated on the idea of removing Trump and that's where these things are going. The accusations about why he's unfit for office move as the evidence does.

Essentially, it's a bad science experiment. They've (The political opponents of Trunp) already determined the conclusion. The hypothesis just changes until they find the right experiment to reproduce the results.

I'm not suggesting some grand conspiracy, I was referring more to his opponents on social media but that certainly seeps into political institutions, of course it does. They're made up of people and people aren't unbiased

As far as I know, Mueller has NEVER intimated the current investigation is about Russia. That, I believe, has been media spin about Mueller's investigation was about from the beginning. The investigation has always been 'open' following the initial case against the Trump appointee caught on tape in Trump Tower. The crack in the wall lead to many things including potential 'collusion'.
