I was just reporting the selected vox pops of Trump supporters on MSNBC. They are nursing a semi hoping it's a Trumpet. CNN coverage is surprisingly more measured. Then again Chris Cuomo looks visibly shaken up whilst reporting.

The amount of partisan terrorist attacks appears to be on the rise. Any fair minded American should be extremely worried about this and personally seek to temper their own partisan reactions.

It won't happen but that's what should. Even extremists and partisans believe themselves to be reasonable. It's always the other side with the problem.

1 - Agree with this. Admittedly, I also bought into this at times. On reflection, a 'dickhead' thing to have done. I make mistakes also - fortunately not in a way that would affect my chances of being US president. Or in a way that would dictate US policy...
2 - Yes. Though I may have expressed myself badly - in a way all I have been trying to say is that I don't buy in to Trump as a miracle cure. Have tried my own version of this before. It didn't work..

No, you expressed yourself very well. I think you are exactly right about walking a mile in someone else's shoes. I have often said here that I feel more empathy for those in a dark enough place to reach out for whatever light is provided, which is, unfortunately and sadly predictably, often home to angler fish, in this case a globular orange one with a US flag pin in its gill. Too many feel contempt for those people, or revulsion at the choice they make -- that such feelings nearly became palpable parts of the Democratic platform is why the red revolution happened!

This is one of the reasons I was so irritated at this fuckface Yale professor who wrote that "those who hate Trump hate the average American" (I provided a link earlier, though his editorial is all over the place now). I couldn't disagree more, at least in my case.

There seems to be an ISIS flag on one of the bombs. I don't know if this is fake news or not yet as I've only just seen the picture.

It's also worth pointing out that a ton of major right wing figures including Trump, the FBI Director, the Defence Secretary and one of the Naval Admirals were sent ground beans which ricin is made from about a month ago.

We also had the guy just charged with wanting to suicide bomb a Trump speech.

Let's not pretend that any idea of an explanation that isn't "Trump fans did it" is completely incredible here.

As always with these things, let the authorities do their jobs before jumping to conclusions, let alone declaring any conclusions as insanity.

It's a sad commentary that when you write that, I immediately think "If the FBI says some Trump supporter did it, Trump will say they've screwed up the investigation, castigate them, and say he is fairly sure it's a leftist plot to pin blame on the right because some guest on Infowars suggests it on a podcast."

I'd put that in the extremely unlikely territory yeah, but I wouldn't rule out a false flag attack.

Again, anything is possible at this stage and we should await further info.

The one theory I've seen which makes sense is that all of the targeted individuals seem to have been involved in the Iran nuclear deal to a significant degree. But as earlier, it's too soon to really give anything any credence.

The one addressed to Maxine Waters would seemingly spike the Iran theory. That said, we have all sorts of right (and left) wing nutters around here, it's pretty likely it was just one of them. Does this mean anything or implicate the larger conservative movement? Not really, but I do wish Trump would tone down the attack on the media stuff, eventually someone is going to take him up on it.
