This is well in line with my interactions with many Harvard graduates whilst living in Boston (some that came from wealthy backgrounds were of suspect intelligence, to put it mildly) and is especially relevant given the worst kept secret (that everyone already knew) from Mary Trump’s book.

To be fair, it is not much different in our schools, as well.

It’s plausible. But Biden isn’t Clinton, there are far fewer undecided voters this time, the nation is in a recession and a pandemic and Trump has to run on his track record, Trump won the EC by 80k votes in three states and nearly all swing states are polling for Biden, and that lead is double digits. What is Trump going to do to narrow the gap? I think he has two prayers: a miracle vaccine or Biden gets sick and his replacement is a mess. It probably isn’t in Trump’s control now.

There are two realistic options:

-Biden wins the swing states and carries the electoral college by a comfortable margin Of something like 54% to 46%

-The second option is that Dumb Donald wins all 50 states and over 90% of the popular vote along with all senate races and at least 80% of house seats. Republicans will take to Fox News with an “I told you so” attitude and vehemently deny any foul play. They’ll have enough of a majority in Congress to pass Constitutional amendments which will basically install him as a dictator. At that point decent Americans will have to flee or risk being imprisoned/executed.

But it really isn’t. Minorities don’t get the same opportunities as whites solely because of the color of their skin. George W Bush could get into Yale while being an average student but it’s not fair for a POC who succeeded in spite of being disadvantaged to get a spot?

BTW, there was a study years ago where resumes were sent to Major US employers for high paying jobs. The resumes were basically identical but half had names like “William” or “Kaitlyn” while the other half was made up of people named “Darius” or “LaShanda”. Guess who got calls for interviews?

Racism isn’t just a problem for minorities, it’s a problem for everybody. Inept people getting education or jobs they don’t deserve hurts everybody.

BTW, in the mid-90s I was told I wasn’t allowed to hire black people because “They didn’t want to work”. I was working for another company up until 2009 who still wouldn’t hire black people. They had one Latina woman and she was only there in case we had a chance to get a Spanish speaking client. She got no sales credit and had an entry level job.

Fivethirtyeight are showing Biden has a 10 point average poll lead. He beat Clinton when she had a 5 point gap, so he has 5 months to pull back 5 points and it's still plausible he could win a second term.

It’s four months, not five and Hilary was at 42% against Trump at 38% in July 2016. Hilary never polled over 50% in 2016, unlike Biden.
