You are revealing your mis-informed view of this. Those protestors that you label stupid commie thugs are overwhelmingly normal non violent people protesting racism. The AntiFa moniker is barely visible probbaly even totally absent in the majority of these protests. Its about racism - nothing else.

The word 'Antifa' has been adopted as the collective noun for a group of people protesting, not necessarily fascism in its purest form but the behaviour of in this case the Trump administration.

What the Trump administration have managed to do is convince people that 'Antifa' are essentially a rampaging horde, hell bent on tearing down democracy, whilst at the same time as demolishing democracy brick by brick in the greatest sleight of hand con-trick in history.

Yep - the ploy here is to rebrad pro racism views with non racist retoric. Overt racism is not something that sells well politically - but if you just change it and give it an unrelated label and bundle all sorts of other garbage in with it - AntiFa (leftist commie scum, rioters, terrorists etc) then its easier for trumpers to identify with. Many dont want to be seen as racist but they will happily rage against AntiFa all day long. The cold hard reality is that this is all about racism and civil rights.
