Donald Trump

Right. I get that that this seems to be quite a one-sided thread. However, I'm gonna add a little bit of spice to this and people are entitled to take it how they feel.

I do not particularly like Donald Trump, and would never ever have expected him to become US President. It was a huge shock to me.

I didn't vote him into power, and as a UK citizen it matters not one iota, as it was not my vote and I can't change that. We all can cry from the rooftops, mock his debating skills or take the piss out of his haircut if we choose.

That said, against all the bad prophecies that may or may not happen, there is a bit of something that has come from this I really don't mind. I don't mind that a US President makes his feelings known to the general public (whether it be by twitter or any other media source). Do we really want the opposite? Do we really want people elected into power to keep their 'honest' opinions within a closely guarded 'click', whereby the electorate never really gets to know the true intent of their representative until it's exposed by the typical media sources? Without getting into the specific good or bad of Trumps policies, which angle would you really prefer?

I'm not asking for you to give me a response on whether on not you like/dislike Trump or his policies, I'm asking whether you would prefer a leader that offers dialogue to the public or one that only speaks to a house of representatives?

I think you may misunderstand to whom, and how, a President communicates.

When a President speaks, he speaks to the whole world, and he speaks for all Americans. Do you think what you are watching would make YOU proud if you were American?

Today, he used the OFFICIAL @POTUS Twitter account to complain that a Department Store has dropped his daughter Ivanka's clothing line due to poor sales. Do YOU think that is an appropriate use of OFFICIAL communication channels?

And, I'm not trying to be partisan, or even talk about my like or dislike of Trump. Rather, I'm asking whether this new direct approach, which you appear to favor, is of a manner you believe appropriate.

It is one thing to be open and make more public statements than has been the usual for the last 200+ years, but it is an entirely different thing if what is communicated is juvenile, pithy, pathetic and, in many cases, patently false!

It is NOT the channel, or audience, it is the content.

It's not dialogue. It's a twitter monologue. The only people talking to him are sycophants.

Makes you wonder what he said to her ...
He said "I'm going to fuck you so hard later tonight your head will fall off".

To his daughter.

He only serves his own interests.

If Donald Trump was a rap singer he'd be: 'The Notorious B. I. G. O. T.'

South Park have said they won't be touching politics anymore because satire has now become reality, and they couldn't make Donald any funnier than he already is.

I only just glanced past that gif and just caught her looking down. that looked disturbing to me tbh. If i ever made a woman react like that i would instantly realize i had said something horrific, fuck talking to people go and apologize you twat. If the fella really ia as capriciously cruel to make his wife act like that then hmm i have very very big reservations about him. I have had the misfortune of meeting someone like that before, i hope i never have to again. If you need to be controlling in such a manor your unstable, not stupid tweet unstable but properly unstable.

The truth to me is all his rhetoric is 'meh' and his actions are simply things he said he would do. That single act though say's a lot about a person, no way was he being nice. I would bet it was along the lines of 'don't fuck up' like it was an annoying work colleague or similar in such a situation. Put it this way if i were her brother i'd have the fucker by the neck demanding to know what he said with a few hard slaps mixed in with the convo because she looked like she had been told... hell i don't know, that her life is shit and she is shit and look to the floor now.

Sorry for the off topic as it is not really related to his presidency but that really annoyed me.
I watched quite a lot of that inauguration day on the TV. I was struck by how controlling and seemingly nasty he was to his wife all through the day, several times I remember thinking 'he's treating her like she's a stupid child'. She is clearly afraid of him, she jumps when told to no doubt about it
