Why would a thread on the internet worry anyone?

I'd be more worried about the senile, old, cúnt nugget that's in office in America as one of the most powerful world leaders

But that's just my prorities I suppose.

I don't think of viruses as anyone's fault. I think of it as a virus causing a pandemic decimating the world. America being no exception. That said, I thought His (Trump's) response was poor as was those of most leaders in most countries.

That said, I'm not bothered by the insulting of Trump or people disliking him or finding him incompetent. They are free to hold these views, and to an extent I agree with some of their claims.

What worries me, is the callous wishing that someone they don't know gets the disease and die. And then no one finding that alarming... Yes, there have always been those who are excessive. But a year ago, some while still hating Trump as much as anyone, would have still called out such callousness.

Similarly, there is the obsession with hoping Hydrocloroquine or Chloroquine doesn't work. That worries me. I don't give a shit that Trump touted it. I hope to he'l it works. I leave in New York. It's not an ideological point for me. I hope it works like a magic portion. I'm praying anything and everything works. I couldn't give 2 fucks if Trump after the fact touted it.

I hope it works. I hope Remdensivir works. I hope Ivermectin works. I hope as many drugs as possible work.

I can't for the life of me understand those hoping it doesn't. For fuck sake. Anyone who has done any reading about this virus knew about Chloroquine long before Trump ever mentioned it. The Chinese recommended it. The Belgisns had it on there protocols. The Italians, Iranians and I believe Malaysians all had it as a treatment option. WHO had it as one of the drugs on the joint effort Trials they were going to start. All long before Trump ever said a word about it.

Just coz some dufus you don't like promotes it after the fact is no excuse to start wishing it fails. That's just pathetic in my view.

The constant bleating about its side effects also. For fuck sake, it's been around for 70 years. I used it for close to 10 years. Sure it has side effects but compared to death? What are we even on about here? Just pathetic if you ask me.

And can we not Pretend because Trump is awful means everyone else is good? I mean we are talking the fucking Chinese Communist Party here in some respects...

I'm glad you asked. It does coz it's a microcosm of the real world. The increasing creation of silos that run on fomented anger...

Group think that causes a group shift. One that doesn't necessarily occur due to changes in facts or circumstances but rather to due to belief amplification.

So when I say this thread worries me... I mean it worries me what it means for society in general. If it's happening here, it's happening everywhere.

Who says they want the treatment to fail? It is untested in covid,it has some bad side effects,you should be concerned about taking it until it is passed safe for covid,each illness reacts differetly to any drug regardles if that drug works in other illnesses,it has to be clinically trialled ,he is being very reckless telling people to take it,he has been selling it like he is on the shopping chanel

That should be what you are worrying about,aside from staying well

Not him. Someone said they hoped some Trump supporter got it. I thought that was beyond the pail. Kinda like the folks who were saying awful things about Boris on the other thread. It's a bit off color if you ask me.

As for the drug, I won't argue what most feel about what he did or said. But we need to stop pretending he is 'making' people do anything. Doctors will prescribe the drug. No one else can. And every such prescription is under the direction of a Dr.s supervio. That goes without saying.


Like I said, sure the drug has side effects. But for most the alternative is death. This drug has been around forever. I used it as a kid. It's rough, but certainly not even in the same ballpark as death...

By the way, the only way to test the drug is to give it to people... There are no other ways. It's been tested in vitro and was effective. Some anecdotal evidence from abroad also suppor the claim that it might be useful.

We have patients dying daily by the hundreds in New York. And the reason why NYC signed up for a Trial to test, use and to be the first in line to get the drug.had nothing to do with anything Trump said. I

It had to do with what Dr's and Scientist from other regions (Belgium, China, Italy, Malaysia) recommended regarding the drug that tipped the scale. Not to mention continued anecdotal evidence of it being somewhat effective.

Trumps rants were and continue to be irrelevant one way or the other. By the way, that also should have been the position taken by the Anything But-Trump crew. That his bumbling Science bereft rants has no bearing and he should keep quiet and let the Scientist work. They would let us know if Hydrocloroquine works. That was the right stance to take.

What unfortunately seems the response is to hope the drug doesn't work. And absent that, to tout side effects as if side effects are a new phenomenon to pharmacology. Worse still, as if those side effects were not preferable to death.

It's all a bit strange. My point I guess is that lots are not even being effective as Anti-Trumpers.

It really is not that hard to be Anti-Trumpist. There's enough material there without the need to become batshit

I think you mean certain posts on this thread worry you and they are very much in the minority if they exist at all wishing trump or his supporters get the virus and wishing the drugs he touts and almost certainly has a financial interest in fails.

If you are a New Yorker you have all our sympathies and you would be right to worry about the virus. Don’t obfuscate though, it’s poor from you to build straw men like that

If Murdoch did that and Fox sacked Hannity, Ingraham and the rest of the sycophants, within a week there would be a new TV network being set up called Trump TV funded by one of his billionaire mates and Trump will announce to his followers that Trump TV is their new source of truth and Fox is fake news like the rest of them.

But I don’t think that necessarily makes him stupid. In my view, some of the most talented linguists in the world work in advertising and their job is to make a point in the fewest words possible.

Check this video on how he uses language. I don’t think he’s as stupid as he appears.

I despise Trump and everything he stands for. But I don’t think he’s as stupid as he appears.
