Donald Trump

I suppose but let's not be silly -- he's not a viable candidate wearing an orange jumpsuit.

I think while we joke a bit about him pleading insanity or impaired functionality this is what will happen in some way -- certainly he'll make a show of it ala Harvey Weinstein.

Also, as others (and I) have pointed out -- he is likely in terrible, terrible financial shape too.
Saw something from Forbes estimating he owes $1.5b. Incredible amount. What was that rule about being a security threat if in debt?

I gave up a long time ago in here Seb.
The American election debates, if you could call them that, at times, verge on the ridiculous.
I get exasperated and yet amazed by the patience initially shown by certain fellow members in here, of the American persuasion. Because it always ends with repetitive pointing out of the bloody obvious to people who whether they wumming or not, have no intention of conceding the simple fact that I made clear months back.

Trump is barely eligible to perform the role of human, never mind President of the USA.

He’s a gobshite too. Look up the word in the Oxford English Dictionary. There’s simply a picture of him in the explanation.

If he wins tomorrow keep an eye open for the Irish News. I’m hiring a tractor and driving down to his Doonbeg golf course to dig it up.
In protest, you realise.

and in search of turf for a lovely new lawn ...............

Yes, iirc in terms of actual votes cast starmers landslide win was not much better than the collapse under Corbyn in the previous GE.
Just checked; in 2019, Labour (under Corbyn) amassed 32.1% of the vote, winning 202 seats. Last July, under Starmer, they achieved 33.7%, winning 411 seats.

Fair point.
It’s also worth pointing out the presidential election isn’t FPTP/FPP, as it is decided by the Electoral College (and even there, two states, including the one I live in, don’t award all of their electoral votes based on simple plurality across the state as a whole).

Also, my state has ranked choice voting for the president, which further distinguishes it from normal FPTP/FPP elections.

“If you owe 1.5 million to the bank, that’s your problem. If you owe 1.5 billion to the bank, that’s the bank’s problem (and probably a massive security vulnerability for any nation if that person holds political office).”

I see you’ve noticed MSC hasn’t been in lately and feel the void needs to be filled. ;-)
Sorry for your void, I'm sure you will find other men to fill it. I have a thing I do Monday to Friday during the days and I was fishing all day Sunday - not for you in here for a change, but something rather more challenging ;-)

I am surprised the clandestine PNOS meetings take up so much of your time, but glad you were able to get away on Sunday, for the forum’s sake!

Fancy going fishing again for the next week? I know you like a challenge and I know most would in here would very much appreciate your taking it on.

Some irony about his attacks on the ‘mainstream media’ when I suspect they would love nothing more than him winning and getting back in power - controversy sells and he produces it in bucket loads.

To be honest I'm slightly ambivalent about this election like all US elections as I'm not a yank. But I do hope Harris wins primarily as Trump will probably cut off Ukraine and cosy up to Putin.
