Donald Trump

I’m not in the Trump will definitely lose camp but I think his chances are quite slim. I just cannot envisage him increasing his vote in the crucial swing states.
Now we have a little pointer. In Alabama, deepest Republican territory, a state house election has just taken place.
Marilyn Lands ran on a ticket to restore women’s’ reproductive rights in the face of a state ban on abortion.
SHE WON BY 62% to 37%.
This was a Republican seat. Game over for Maga where women run on this issue.

That’s a relief. What on earth were they thinking? An election denier, plotter and much else cannot be a journalist of any worth.

This Truth Social float just shows how fucked up the US stock market is nowadays. Valued at $11bn for a company with 607,000 daily active users and fuck all advertising revenue. The whole thing's a giant pyramid scheme that Trump will pull his money out of as soon as he's legally able to and all of his supporters will be left with worthless stock. It seems like having a charismatic leader is more important than having a business that actually makes money these days.

He can pull his money out as soon as he wants.

His son is a shareholder and can take it to help.

I think pretty much every MSNBC presenter, including Chuck Todd pushed back on her appointment. Maddow did her whole 1st segment on the issue on Monday. MSNBC's management came out on Saturday and said she wouldn't be appearing on any of their shows. It was only a matter of time after that.

I'm really not sure how NBC thought that paying for the opinion of a fully on-board member of the group that actively tried to subvert the results of a free and fair election was a good idea. It's like Maddow said: "You wouldn't pay a convicted mobster; a 'made' man to give their opinion on the Justice Department".

I really hope the Justice Department have the her firmly in their sights.

The price will drop to ~$2 before he can sell the stock. Everyone knows it’s a bullshit price, already dropped 30% from peak.

Terms of SPAC investment includes a ‘lock-up’ provision preventing him from selling his stake for 6 months after merger and listing (and prevents him from borrowing against the held shares for that period).

But, as I have said previously, he obviously has previous for breaking legally binding contracts and there are round about ways of receiving cash for those assets (such as receiving an uncollateralised loan that he just so happens to pay back with proceeds of the sale of his stake after 6 months.

Now, no sane, legitimate entity would give him such a loan right now, especially given his stake in the newly listed media company may very well be worth a fraction of what it is now by the time he can sell. And the mere fact that he almost never actually pays his creditors.

Which leaves certain interests in Saudi and Russia that may be interested in doing so. But that line of credit is very risky given the immense scrutiny his finances are already under.

It will be very interesting how things develop over the next week regarding the $175 million bond due and the next few months as his financial position is further strained by mounting costs of litigation and campaigning with more limited fundraising from his base.
