Agree 100 per cent. Contrast the difference with Democrats saying how abhorrent that an assassination attempt was made on Trump's life & a clip of Trump laughing & making fun of an attempt to kill Nancy Pelosi's husband at one of his rallies. He's says at the same time laughing "How's your husband". He then goes on to say "The Pelosis's built a wall around their home for added security. That didn't go down very well did it". Once again laughing to the cheers of his audience. The guy is absolute scum of the earth along with his MAGA supporters.

What charges should have been brought against Hillary?
Before you say "deleting official emails", ask yourself where that stands compared to disappearing secret documents that may have prejudiced US agents abroad. Don't forget that in 2017, Trump shared highly classified information with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

In any case, my point was quite simply that it was Trump who started threats to imprison political opponents.

You've lost me. I think I understood you fine. The context was the possibility that Trump would do a deal that let Putin keep the "Russian" eastern bits of Ukraine. You posted:

You might not want it or be happy with it. Chamberlain wasn't happy with Hitler taking over the Sudetenland, but he took it in the hope it would stave off another world war. After all, Hitler was only taking over the "German" areas of Chechoslovakia.

There's even less reason to trust Putin (who is open about wanting all of Ukraine), and give Russia territory that means Ukraine has to defend not just a northern border but an eastern and southern border as well.
