I'm thinking of starting a kaybaby group for all the lovers of gods supper, just a little weekly get together to discuss the past weeks kebabs and next weeks kebabs and stuff, I shall be on the hunt for premises next week and some chairs also so we can sit round in a nice Cosy circle exchanging pics. Kebab is king!

Might be worth checking blood pressure on a weekly basis

I've just had a thought. With my impending visit to Turkey less than four weeks away, am I to experience the pinnacle of kebabs in the home of the kebab?

Anyone whose had one in Turkey, please advise me.

I had some really nice ones when I went last year, not from the restaurants though. Just from the blokes selling them out of a windows near the markets and shopping areas.

They are good in Turkey but not the same as they are here, the word has been hijacked here, in Turkey it's more a cooking style (cooked over flames) so you could see things described as a Kebab but are nothing like what you see here. The doner ones you can get everywhere are a lot smaller, we would describe them more as a wrap, I have never seen eh type of pitta bread we have here in Turkey, they do them in Lamb or Chicken, the meat is not ground up like it is here, the kebab we get here is based on the Adana Kebab, which figures as most kebab shops are Kurdish owned rather than Turkish

Preach

Never had one. When I lived in Manc, I was never exposed to any of that "foreign muck". It was strictly chips and peas, beans, egg, gravy, fish fingers, saussage, etc: And now when I come over, I eat nothing but Hollands pies. I imagine it's the same thing as Gyros though? Which are right good.

This thread has sent me drooling!! and I'm stone cold sober. I have a place here in Whalley Range but noticed a few good places have cropped up over on the Moss up Claremont Road. Any recommendations folks?

Cheers but I could never attempt a kebab that large.
Just do your best Bob. Whatever you can't manage, just leave it in the microwave until the morning.

Kashmiri spice?

Excellent attempt. It was their sister shop in Levenshulme. Cha cha's. Both places do kebabs fit for a king at a measly £2.00

The mrs landed home one day with some frozen doner meat from iceland or wherever, I thought this will be shite but how wrong I was, it was quite decent considering and I was able to feed my little addiction every evening for a good 10 happy days!
I went in to my local Iceland today especially for this meat but couldn't find it. What part of the store do they keep it? I did find 2 kebabs for £2 though. 2 mins in the microwave....little bit dubious about them, but thought I'll give them ago.

Used to love my kebabs, but since ive moved up to denton though there all shite, mice land on hyde road do the best lamb kebab wraps you could eat

I had a normal kebab on nan from noddys on Saturday night and yes it was nice but I'm on a mission now to get fit And healthy. No more eating crap however good it tastes. Everyday now is weights and cardio. I don't want to be a fat twat anymore lol

was it the proper bread like an earlier post suggests or is it still the thin shite?
