Dont be disheartened.

Not overly fussed. But for some wayward finishing in the dying minutes, that game could have inexplicably gone to extra time, so I was left thinking that Liverpool had been gifted a three-goal advantage but that come the end there was precious little between the sides. Still think both clubs will drop points in the run in.

Liverpool put a lot into yesterday and Klopp said it was their best ever performance. They looked shagged at the end and we were in the ascendancy. That is in spite of a bad first-half with a calamitous goalkeeping error, loads of changes, injuries and a bruising encounter in the previous midweek.

As hard as it is to shut out yesterday from our minds, we simply have to do so. In fact, forget everything that has happened prior to Easter Sunday and solely focus on what is ahead - 7 league games and a one-point advantage. A rested KDB, Gundogan, Laporte, Mahrez, Ederson and Rodri. Ruben Dias returning to the scene and hopefully Walker too. Brighton and Watford at home to come, followed by a home CL game. It's all still in our hands. This is now all that matters.

After the semi final in 2011 nothing, absolutely nothing would dishearten me re a City result. We achieved more in that one goal and that one result that is a match for anything that followed in the succeeding ten years. Disappointment might temporarily kick in but normally it's vanished as soon as I get in the shop post-match and buy summat to cheer me up - works every time.

Klippity Kuntface would have said the same thing had they scabbed a one nil! The fellow just has to milk everything and put the most positive spin on it.

What would that summat be Dave, beer, fags, a copy of Razzle?

I am actually heartened by the defeat! We were way off our best 11 and yet got within 1 goal of them in the end.

Pretty much the way I see it, frankly. We played the team that play ‘never-before-seen football’, we played pretty shit (especially Steffen), and yet we threatened them.
Steady as she goes, blues. They'll be ahead of us by Wednesday evening (United are crap, they're not getting anything there) — then we know what has to be done.
