Dortmund away travel advice please

FAO anyone flying into Weeze, If there's a couple of you, get a cab from the airport to the train station. 20 yards from the station is a hotel/bar. There's also a supermarket about 400 yards away, where you can get some decent lager about 20p a can/bottle.

Get the jars from the supermarket and ask the barman in the hotel for a bag of ice. Chilled beers all the way to Duss/Dortmund. When we caught the train from Weeze to Duss, I'm sure it took just over an hour. Then again, time flew by as we were caning the ice cold 20p jars.

Were now gonna drive it from Charleroi to Dortmund. Car is £100 split 4 ways and looking like a 2 and a half hour journey from there to dortmund, all being well.

Total cost £125 for return flight, car, fuel and hotel.....

Two of have decided to make the trip over to Dortmund on match day, stay in Dortmund, and fly back on the 5th. We've not made any plans at all yet, so was hoping for some advice on the best flights / route to get there early on the 4th and not be too expensive?

Also, anyone who is taking said route, and would be looking for two more to jump in and spread the cost of a minibus to Dormund from the airport, let us know. Cheers!

You can fly on 4th into Amsterdam arrive about 9.50am. Train at either 10.34 or 12.15 to Dortmund. (2 hr 50) return from Amsterdam on 5th late evening from Liverpool airport.

£87 flight
£35 train
£33 digs each.

Spikes day trip at £230 might be easier though'

Just booked for just under £70 going to Hamburg Monday and back Wed.

Anyone got a link for where and how I can book train tickets from / to Hamburg / Dortmund and approx price? Presume its cheaper in advance?

Why do you fly to Hamburg? That is 350 kilometres away from Dortmund... The train fare could be more expansive than the flight...

Where did you get that price?

The cheapest price I get without Bahn24 ticket (that is a frequent traveller card - with it starts at 58,50) is 78 EUR for the return ticket - caution as you cannot swap trains. The regular price would even be 128 EUR - so you have to get the cheap tickets as long they are available. (do not wait to travel day with booking it!)
