Dortmund Away

I’m thinking of staying in Essen but I’m struggling a bit with getting back there after the game. Was playing about in Trainline last night but gets a bit confusing after a while.

Gelsenkirchen/herne/Düsseldorf are all other options but it’s the getting back which is the ballache.

I’m staying in Essen, seems a real pain getting back with loads of trains showing as not available. Hopefully they will come available at some point over the next 2 weeks. Otherwise I’ll take a taxi back as it’s only a 30 minute drive from Dortmund to Essen. I am open to other suggestions though if anyone has any??

Have a look on Deutsche Bahn website (bahn.de) there is an English option but there are local trains RE or S that are free with match tickets from Dortmund to Essen at 23:26, 23:48, 00:07 &00:46.

how many have we sold so far?

There’s 185 remaining, but not sure if that’s from the original 3,193 or is after taking an additional 1,000 that were available.

If I’m guessing, I think it’s from the original 3,193. So at the moment it looks like we’ve sold +/- 3,000. But if I’m wrong and we have taken the additional 1,000, then we’ve sold around 4,000.

Can't work it out either, either there are 1,200 left or 800 (of the full allocation) with 3 blocks remaining.

Saled stopped in effect after the 12pm rush, can't see us taking any more. Not after last night :)

Does anyone know if we are allowed to take a backpack into the ground at dortmund?

Many thanks for your message.

Only bags with a maximum size of DIN A4 and a maximum depth of 15 centimetres may be brought into SIGNAL IDUNA PARK.

You are welcome to leave your bag at the helmet stall until 45 minutes after the end of the match.

In addition to the familiar "Helmbude" at the bicycle guard in front of the northwest entrance and the "Abgabestelle Gast" (only for guest fans!) opposite the guest entrance on the north side of the stadium, a new "Abgabestelle Heim" (home drop-off point) and a new "Abgabestelle Gast" (guest drop-off point) have also been set up on Turnweg next to the Rote Erde stadium. The deposit fee is 0.50 euros.

However, due to the large number of people, we are unfortunately unable to give you a guarantee here. Alternatively, you could still lock your rucksack away in a locker at the station.
If you would like to leave your backpack at the Helmbude, we recommend arriving early. The Helmbude opens when the stadium opens (2.5 hours before kick-off) and then again 15 minutes before the end of the match until 45 minutes after the match.

For any further questions and information please do not hesitate to contact us.

Still struggling with flights and accommodation for Dortmond . What’s peoples plans on doing it cheap .

Depends how cheap you want but one option is Manchester to eindhoven mon-wed, return train and hotel in Essen can be done for £285 each

If anyones on that flight can share an 8 seater for 160 euros to dusseldorf looks like a ball ache on public transport

I’ve booked it for 3 of us and never even realised!! Haha
Ha. At least you can plan for it now. Best route from there is a bus to Kevelaer then train to Dusseldorf, worth checking the train times though as might not be too often. I think we paid about 100 euros in a taxi one way about 3 years ago.
