Dortmund Away

3 of us going manc - eindhoven on the Monday, returning on the Wednesday, staying both nights in Duss, £204 Inc trains to and from eindhoven to Duss, hotel prices on the other hand are joke but fuck it, cant beat good piss up in Duss

Going via Brussels with my son and step son (14 year olds) Train on the Tuesday into Düsseldorf then onto Dortmund, probably end up staying in Essen as I know a few lads who are staying there! Finding it really difficult to find decent accommodation (price/location) My two lads are very very excited,my son always has had a love of German football and Dortmund in particular so he is absolutely buzzing that I am taking him, really looking forward to this trip and hopefully getting a good result

Catching the train into Dortmund on the day. Does anyone know if there'll be a decent away fans pub? Just wondering what time to get into town. Also are masks required anywhere in Germany now?

Same question as this, not sure how long to stay in Dusseldorf on the day of the game before heading to Dortmund. Heard Dortmund not that great for boozing?

When I went to Dortmund away a few seasons ago I took the train from Schiphol, Amsterdam. Worth a look if Germany flights are pricey?

Flying in to Amsterdam … OK. But flying out of Amsterdam is VERY RISKY.

On a regular basis the security lines are running 3-4-5 hours ! With the lines running outside the terminal for over a mile !

It’s not an every day occurrence, but frequent enough to avoid the place at this time.

Do we reck most will be in Cologne or Dussledorf night before the game?

Could be slighty different to Copenhagen where most met in one place at the Irish bar.

The hotel prices in Dusseldorf are extortionate as there is a big trade fair on. If you haven't sorted accommodation out yet, you may be better looking elsewhere.

If anyones on that flight can share an 8 seater for 160 euros to dusseldorf looks like a ball ache on public transport
The train from Weeze was fast and cheap last time I went to Schalke. The station is a short taxi hop from the airport and didn't cost us that much. It is a small station and no ticket office was open when we went but there was a ticket machine. The regional trains (RB) are much cheaper than the high speed (ICE) ones. I think the RB train took about 40 minutes to Duss. Their so-called slow trains are faster than our fast ones!

Flights have shot up to Amsterdam as the Dippers play Ajax on the Wednesday, that’s the route we are going by in EasyJet Monday - Wednesday, 1 night in Amsterdam, not sure if we’ll find anything to do there :-).

Cheers for that, we’re getting the train on Wednesday from Dortmund to Amsterdam, arrives at 4pm, was going to have three hours in the City then head to the airport for our 10 o’clock (ish) flight to Manchester. Will probably just go straight to the airport.

It’s a 15 min train ride from Amsterdam center to the airport. You could go straight to the airport and check out the situation.

Highly unlikely it would get worse from 4pm onwards, either its already bad and you should check in and join the line or the line is not long and you’re OK for quick trip back to the city for a couple of hours.

Don’t know how accurate this is; https://www.schiphol.nl/en/my-travel-day/today

On the day of the game we are heading to dortmund from Dusseldorf, I understand that trains have been included in the match ticket, is that still the case?

Coming back from Dortmund after the game, what is it like getting a train to Dusseldorf?
