Dortmund (H) - CL QF | Post-Match Thread

Bellingham is a good kid, good interview and played really well.

As for his goal, it was a foul studs up and followed through, he did get the ball but with studs up against a swinging leg is 100% a foul, imo
And exactly the same as the free kick they got late in the second half yet BT and no one on here seems to have mentioned it. I personally don’t think either are fouls, you’re actually penalising the guy who knocks the ball away because he’s kicked on his studs.

Klopp the excuse master blames a biased referee for not giving Tom (Mane) Daley decisions away from home. You should try being us playing at Anfield you twat. But isn't sure they deserved more from the game. Hes like the Riddler and Bingo morphed into one the massive fanny.

Same old , same old in the Champs league missed a host of chances yet again if it was 4-1 or 5-1 Dortmund couldnt have complained we just are not clinical enough at this level , not blaming individuals but we need to take our chances
Our defence wasnt as assured as usual but we did OK , and our spirit and never say die attitude is something that might get is over the line against Dortmund , but PSG or Bayern will be different gravy.

Thought Pep was remarkably polite to the stupid cow who was no doubt being primed in her earpiece.

He's too clever to fall into their loosely set traps .
Pep's always much more polite and patient with female interviewers, I've noticed it in his press conferences.. Suspect he's a bit of a charmer

The reality is they are the best side we have faced all season.

Very, very good side.

Thought we were immense.

Thought our mentality was colossal to push for the winner despite their late equaliser. Sign of a collective winning mentality.

Pep was excellent imo.

Kept wonderboy pretty quiet and changed it by bringing Jesus on at the right time and having him press their tiring back four.

I'm so proud of that performance. A proper top level performance against a very good opponent at the very top level.

Streets ahead of the Lyon debacle last year.

Best opponents this season in my view. They played to their strengths and we did well restricting them apart from a few lapses.

We wasted a few chances to get the killer second before they scored. Foden and Kev were brilliant. Pity a few others looked a bit off their usual game. Least we have a lead to take there and see the job through hopefully.
Agreed. Dortmund looking nearly as good as 2011. Fast team. Kev has been brilliant since the break with injury and is now scoring.

I agree, and it pisses me off when we produce such great approach play without any end product.
It's been going on all season, however we are still the top scorers in the Premier League.
Don't get me wrong I actually like the false 9, When we are at it playing that system we are so difficult to play against. Nights like tonight we needed a striker and I thought Jesus did a decent job when he came on.
The one that really got on my tits was when Walker did well to get through pulled the ball back and absolutely nobody in the box.

In truth, I think Bellingham's goal should have stood and we should have won 4 - 2. Today's result won't affect our approach to the second leg - albeit it will keep us on our toes.

I had to turn it down 2nd half. You can bet your last fiver this won't be a loss - it'll be setting things up for a 'magical' European night at klanfield. Thankfully I don't think we rely on such magic and home / away isn't that big a deal for us - just hope we put leeds to bed early with minimum effort.
I don't mind a discreet support for English teams. I can remember everyone getting behind Spurs in the early sixties and there has always been an unwritten convention that the media do that. But it should apply across the board. And it should not sound like hysterical women on Centre Court supporting British players who manage to win a match or two.
