Douglas Luiz

Good move. Luiz and Kovacic can be a good base to see out the season. Hopefully make us solid enough to bed in O'Reilly more so he can be a reliable option going forward. If Gundo can finish the season like he played yesterday we are suddenly a different team again
Gundo had his best game since returned. Impressed with him, Dias, Kevin, Jeremy, Phil, Kova and a bit of credit for Nunes too. More like it yesterday but far sterner tests to come next few weeks. First time in months I haven't been effing at the s l o w play. Most enjoyable watch.

Agreed but also hesitant to be too positive. Ipswich were awful and wide open. We found a confidence and rythm we haven't had in months, but yet to see how we respond when better team apply pressure on us

Real test awaits in coming matches at they it was Ipswich who just couldn’t handle

The way I see it is - Douglas Luiz is natural progression for Gundo. Not quite the same player but it doesn't matter. Nico will be the natural progression for Kovacic, should Kova stay for the length of his contract. We still need that additional player on top of that to back Rodri up and in effect, replace whatever Nunes was brought in to do.
