Dressing Room Unrest? (updated: Mirror report pg 14)

Re: Dressing Room Unrest?

If I was Silva I would have been pissed off with being taken off. He was our best threat / creative player and with no game this weekend he shouldnt have been taken off. Likewise with Aguero.

Re: Dressing Room Unrest?

Just watched the build up to the first goal - Sergio not a happy bunny.
As you say - sure it's just frustration exaggerated by the recent disappointments.

At least Nasri wasn't on the pitch last night,he must be the most infuriating player to play with !!
I'd have thought Kolarov and Yaya would be more annoying. At least when I play, there is nothing more annoying than people who don't do their bit defensively or look like they aren't trying, then if they are giving you a bollocking every time you don't pass them the ball, you want to murder them by full time! (maybe that's just me)

I know what you mean, but like I say thankfully Nasri wasn't on the pitch

Wait until his girlfriend finds out....hope Pelle is off twatter

Re: Dressing Room Unrest?

Its amazing what some people read into little spats or disagreements between players. What time does the lunatic asylum reopen so they can return home. In the mean time on with supporting the players/club and a positive finish to the season.

Here my take on it... maybe well off the mark but hey.
Bear with me its a bit long winded.
As i see it pellers has a system of play set up that is drummed into the players heads... hence why bony looks a bit uncomfortable at the moment.
I see it as a strict regime where every player has his job/routine. Thats why we keep seeing the play push out to the wings, then brought back... then try again. It only comes in to the middle for a direct attack by the players whos job it is, ie silva and nasri/jimmy drifting in. Then its the forwards job to see off the finish.
Now this is where the unrest might be developing in my opinion. Some if the players like silva are spotting other passages of play in stead of the drilled routine that they clearly feel isnt worked against parked teams. Hence silva attacking the goal direct and for his efforts, scoring a goal.
Thats fine you might think. But then players that want to win by any means then give up on the drilled routine and carry on as they see fit to win. This in turn upsets the forwards who are running their drilled routine and not finding the ball where they expect it, alah silva and aguero tiff.
It seems that when a certain line up is called, the players are expected to play the drilled routine, regardless of how its failing, until the subs that are made, that then changes the set up and routine for that set of players. Watch how it changes when lamps and milner come on.
You might say.. well thats how teams work. But its my belief its too rigid and doesnt allow enough for players to take initiative.
If any if you have watched the video of Ferran Soriano's business/football/goverment talk, you may understand more what im talking about. Its all about being hollistic and everyone having their place in the system.
I think some of the players are following it blindly, whilst other are thinking "hang on... this isnt working in this game.. im gonna change it"..
And so the unrest appears...
Like i say. Its just my take on it, especially since i sat and watched the whole Ferran Soriano video

Your right.

It is long winded

Re: Dressing Room Unrest?

Two views on this thread

Why would there be unrest in the camp of the worlds most pampered squad?
Were the peanuts at the hotel served in the bag and not warmed up in a bowl? FFS if they are unhappy I suggest they should leave for greener pastures, but guess what they wont find any because no one else will pay their wages.
Simple message to the players if it is true, wake up and smell the coffee.

The other view is that the players or some of them at least really do give a toss and can see the Mancini ground hog day occurring again.
This would be somewhat disconcerting because it means holistic aint working.
So in sackings we will need another excuse other than behind the points trajectory or more holistic approach

Reality probably is we are stlll liddle ole City trying to be a big club, takes time you know and we are not there yet

Re: Dressing Room Unrest?

This thread has already turned into a Rag-Fest. Haven't they got anything better to worry about, such as optimistically striving for fourth place?

Re: Dressing Room Unrest?

Is there really unrest?
I see Pellegrini resting players after a busy schedule, giving other members of the squad a run out against a supposedly weaker side.
Arguments on the pitch? We've all been there, but imagine being under the microscope while doing it, the team isn't clicking for some reason, and there is a dawning realisation that unless we win every game from now until the end of the season, it isn't going to happen, yes, the players are a little frustrated.

Re: Dressing Room Unrest?

Quite a few posters have ventured the opinion that these spats are because the players know their season is over. What the fuck kind of shit is this. There's plenty still to play for in the league and if we set up properly in Spain we have a sporting chance of progress there too. Pellegrini looks a shot fighter to me but i believe the players have some belief left.

Oakiecokie, what's wrong with you? The OP was merely asking if others picked up on his observation at the game tonight. Nothing blasphemous about that.
Can't stand it when fans f and blind at people just giving an opinion. And even worse, fans who make excuses for everything that IS wrong with the team at present.

There is a complete difference between "dressing room unrest" and a few spats between one another on the field of play, which coincidentally happens every week,in every game you you care to see.

It is really unbelievable how some people can turn normal sporting behaviour into something sinister. Did anyone see Roy Keane in action in his prime? He was a master at rollicking his team…it didn't do the rags any harm and our situation is nothing like that!!!!
