watching the rugby at the Etihad last night and people being allowed to take drinks back to their seats, surely in this day and age with equality and discrimination, human rights etc it cant be right to let rugby fans do it and ban football fans. times have moved on now and im sure it could be done, it would also stop the half time stampede for a pint an take pressure off the poor fuckers behind the bar who take dogs abuse for taking so long to get everybody served In ten mins

Nah, we're all hooligans, shag your bird, drink your beer (away from view of the seated area) and all that clap trap.

It's no more ridiculous than the law that states that standing at a football ground is unsafe........if you're in the top two divisions. Utterly ridiculous and wholly inconsistent law.

why does it never seem to get challenged, its surely some form of discrimination

That's an interesting thought. I'll buy drinks all night to the first journalist who asks Klopp for his opinion of safe standing.

I'd quite like service to my seat. Those beer sellers who sell the bottles from the cool bags on the concourse could make a killing if they wandered up and down the stairways.

Yep, this should definitely be happening.

If you're in the middle of the row that could throw the bottle at you to catch, like at the baseball

Now that would make opening it interesting, unless they take the top of first before throwing it!
I was sold on it before, but now I'm going to petition for it!

I have 4 hipflasks in my pockets and a very intricate plumbing network of flexible hoses under my clothes. I just have to be careful when we score, as it can sometimes look like i've pissed myself if i jump up too quick.
Christ, I used to take a hip flask to the game with me, it never even crossed my mind that it was illegal! I drank from it openly in 204.

Make the most of it. When the do gooders get going, alcohol will be banned in football grounds. Not just for certain games. Health issues, the smell, not being able to take a piss cause the bogs are full of drinkers emptying their bladders.
Then it will be perfumes and aftershaves, still got 2 gallon of Hai Karate left if anyone is interested ?
