Very fair point again.
Having said that I was quite welcome in 2004 wearing an England shirt in SW France as world champions after they had won the Grand Slam.
My experience is that most French people are very kind especially if you speak Francais to them.
I agree about the french holidays and if you want to practice francais, <a class="postlink" href="http://www.tf1.fr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.tf1.fr</a> is very good.

The toll roads will cost a fortune, but the non-toll roads aren't too bad time-wise and are beautiful in places.
