Dropped points from winning positions

Our pressing game is gone too. The front three of Mahrez, Haaland, and Grealish either don't press or are not very good at it. The midfield looks old and labored.

Should be phil on the right or on the left , only one of grealish and ffs , ffs will at least nick more goals . Thor is very laid back and not a presser , he will have to change as sergio had to , to be more involved , he has plenty of time but it is not happening this season

We drew against Everton. We drew against Forest. And Villa. Really, really poor, the more I think about it. It's the Forest one that really hurts though, because we performed magnificently only a few days before to do what I didn't really think we would at the Emirates. Then threw it away with truly dreadful finishing.

It's the same tally as Bernie and Ilkay, one less than Alvarez and Kev and only two fewer than Mahrez. Coincidentally, it's also three more than any of our CBs as not a single defender apart from Joao has scored a league goal all season.

No need to single out Jack (yet again) for this as frankly the whole squad has struggled for goals apart from Erl (and Phil, at the start of the season).

It's been a weird part of our adaptation/transition process this season. For the last couple of years without a recognised striker, we could have six or seven players all getting around the 10 goal mark. This year, it's kinda been Erl or bust. Other players just haven't chipped in as much, due to the way we've been playing, and it's definitely hurt us.

I think a big part of the City fear factor in the past couple of years was the "anyone can score" idea, but now teams can focus on nullifying Erl and the other players simply aren't stepping up as much as they've done in the past.

Recently we've seen Jack and Mahrez getting some better numbers, so let's hope that can continue, as well as Phil coming back and maybe Bernie chipping in with a few more after breaking his long drought the other day. We need these players to contribute to kill off games and stop losing points needlessly, especially in this latter stage of the season.
Don’t be coming on here with your fancy ‘facts’

Your right about only part of the story but again if I have to crunch each game the Villa, Everton and Forrest results were very disappointing we should have won each game and would have us 4 points ahead of Arsenal.
And Newcastle. They were fucked but we seemed to let them off the hook at 3-3 and settle for the draw

it was a game we could of won but coming back from 3-1 down against a side that should be in Europe next season was perhaps a point earned.

The thrust of the thread was dropped points form a winning position but no doubt Longsight I wasn't jumping for joy when the ref blew the whistle to end the second half.

What makes it worse is that forest go on to get thrashed 4-0 the following week to a struggling west ham. Similarly to how we lost 1-0 to spuds, who then lose 4-1 to Leicester the following week. Shows how much teams want a result against us by parking the bus for 90 mins…

It was exactly that thought that prompted my post. If we had won 4-0, not one man on the Forest team could have complained, including their manager. West Ham are not exactly in terrifying form at present, and they blow them away.
It's just that I've got this horrible feeling that the title is going to be settled by one or two points this year. And not in our favour. As in ’77.
Ah well, I continue to hope…
