Dundee, July 13th - shocking match report (page 36)

I can see both sides of the argument. Whilst it is a pre season and not too much should be read into the result or the performance, it is also an opportunity for fringe players like Rodwell, Sinclair and Guidetti to show what they have and make a case for themselves. Their fitness should be ok surely - they have had time to recover from injury and build a good level of fitness. Hopefully, the game against Hearts will see a better performance.

David McCarthey said "They treated it like a training session and they couldn’t give a toss." IT WAS A TRAINING SESSION YOU THICK SOD!!!

Perhaps they were specifically training to play in a complacent manner incase we draw Wigan again next year.

I was at Dens Park on Sunday and think that the reporter had a fair point, but he may have missed out on a bit more of the story. I was in St Andrews on Saturday evening so didn't attend the open training session at the Stadium. Entry was by producing your match ticket and everyone was put in one end behind the goal and I'm led to believe that the players then trained at the other end! After the game a lot of young fans were eagerly waiting with their Autograph Books, but the players didn't even go down to them at the end. I think Nasri was a main culprit and for the Blues who were at the game and were unaware, seemingly that is why the home crowd were booing him.

I cannot believe that there are examples of people on this thread who are genuinely pissed off that City got beat in their 1st Pre-Season friendly.

Have a word with yourselves for christ sake.

I'm not sure which is more amusing.

Fans booing a player because they heard he didn't sign a kids autograph book the day before a game or someone who thinks a reporter missed out on a "story" by not reporting it.

i went 2 the game on sunday, along with my father and my son.I wont go into the cost as it was very high as we stayed sat to monday. To be fair to everyone that went,it was pretty drab, however, what price do you put on seeing the premier league trophy being paraded around the stadium in glorious sunshine having drunk lots of tennents lager.I for one am very proud of my club.m akes up for all the other drab games ive been too and we paraded nowt.CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND we know what we are.Shame the game was sold to the scottish as a chance to see english champs v scottish champs.Hence the good crowd.Dont think we will ever get sick of seeing us parading trophies, long may it continue.Lets see what this reporter says about the real ENGLAND v SCOTLAND game in november at celtic park.

I remember when we had a storming pre season (unbeaten I think) including a win at Turf Moor when Gio took the piss and Bradbury grabbed a brace and I thought we were certs for Promotion back to the Premiership. We got relegated to the Third Tier for the first time ever.

Valuable lesson learnt (and something my Dad had been telling me for years).

These games mean 'fuck all'. They are about building fitness and nothing else.
