There have been many links from English sources to Kane over the summer, didn't turn out so. Any links from English sorces to Haaland are all with Utd, not us. One or two with Liverpool.

My point being, they don't mean much

I'd say there's been plenty of reliable reports of our interest in Haaland from legit tier 1 sources. The Vlahovic one is weird because I feel if City did want him, this deal would happen very quickly.

There really hasn't been that much at all on Haaland. Particularly not from the English media, which was my point.

And almost nothing with Vlahovic.

Don't think it means anything for either though. If there were links, I would assume they are guessing the obvious.

If however you take Vlahovic's agent's behaviour and comments since the summer, I think it very much feels like they have an agreement with someone. Who that is, is anyone's and the media's guess.

My worries too, are we being set up to be gazumped again with bayern doing the laughing? my other worry is the media hype turning this lad into a Prima Donna and demanding a similar contract as Yaya.

Yup that's the issue we have. It's getting Vlahovic or joining the Haaland raffle and there's every chance we miss out on two of the best young strikers in the world and we can't afford that. We can work with Vlahovic.

I have felt for a while that I felt Vlahovic would be our no 9 signing, he'll be less than a 100 mil, he's 21 so it's a long term purchase, and it feels this is the season where he is really popping off so we could get him before other massive clubs get involved. Also his wages will be considerably less than haaland's on arrival.

My feeling is that City just don't have a mega deal in them, and will always default to signings like this. You get a less certainty but more potential value for money.
