Dying

This is morbid as hell but a while back me and some mates were discussing what songs we'd want played at our funerals.
I chose (as I made my grand entrance) -

A beautiful song and some words would be really poignant - 'Every step of every day I love you, every single one of you' and 'No pain anymore, nothing to feel sorry for, heaven is right here, heaven is everywhere'.

Then as I exited to the great yonder -

I remember 'Scarblue' posting on here and saying that he thought he saw someone , or 'something' , hiding behind a door in his front room at the time of his death ..... but when he checked there was nobody there ...... that was eerie .

if you don't mind me asking, what happened?

A couple of weeks before he died he opened a thread saying he saw a ghost in his home that's about as much as i remember.

mine. yes i am a manic depressive..

If i remember rightly he'd been to the local shop for a newspaper , and on his way back he peered through his front window and he thought he saw a figure , or a shadow , dart behind his door in his living room ..... he went on to say that his kid or kids were always messing around and doing that to surprise him as he walked into the living room ....... however on this occasion he checked behind the door and there was nobody there , even though he could have sworn he saw the 'figure' hide behind it ........ and the kids hadn't even been downstairs .

He passed away very soon after this eerie incident.

It's ceasing to exist, in my opinion. And it scares me shitless, the prospect of not being for the rest of eternity, even if i won't notice.

It also drives me to want to live as long as possible and see us much as possible. A huge number of people don't get the chance to live the way we do, they struggle simply to survive.

I feel privileged to have the choice to live in whatever way i wish, and want to make the most of it.
i totally agree. i am very lucky. im just thanking god i dont live in paisley. :p

This isn't a miserable topic.

Death is potentially the most life enhancing thing possible - think about it.

It's certainly a good way of looking at it.
I like to think we move on.
If i'm right thats great, if i'm wrong and we do just cease
then i won't know a thing about it.
Sort of a win win for me

Haha, it's alright, i spend most of my time either in Glasgow or hiding in my house now, only actually enter the streets of Paisley to catch the bus to get out.

We were all dead before we were born,so it will be just the same as that.....and in a way we do live on has our atoms go to make other things
