Dying

It's ceasing to exist, in my opinion. And it scares me shitless, the prospect of not being for the rest of eternity, even if i won't notice.

It also drives me to want to live as long as possible and see us much as possible. A huge number of people don't get the chance to live the way we do, they struggle simply to survive.

I feel privileged to have the choice to live in whatever way i wish, and want to make the most of it.

It used to scare me!!

But I now think that you don't know your dead so why be scared!!?

You may well go to sleep and never wake up....so you will never know!

So why be scared?

The same as above only the one I saw looked very peacfull, Suppose it depends where your going?

I've seen two people check out in front of me... My Mum & My younger brother.

Mum sounded terrible at her last breath.. anguished almost.

Tony just went to sleep and never woke up.

I swear I still hear him shouting at Eastlands

The road ahead is hard and steep, with hills to climb and furrows deep,
and life will never be as good. as when you beside me always stood,
But I believe that here you stay, you walk beside me every day.
At night you gently touch my cheek and memories are mine to keep,
of my dear brother, so deeply missed, since that last day your head I kissed.
Inside my heart forever stay and walk beside me every day.

They are forever with you, we never ever die levets, they are with you always, have no fear about that.

Because i want to exist ;-)

Survival is one of our most basic instincts, fear is designed to keep us alive.

We all live forever. We all have been alive forever in our consciousness. The infinite time before we were born means nothing just like the infinite time after we die.

We die. Then nothing.

I don't think it's that scary, and the sooner we all accept that that really is it the better for me. We're just a collection of molecules after all, with no real significance in the grand scheme of things.

We are just like rats, scurrying around, trying to out do/live/be better than the next person, when in my opinion it is not how it's meant to be, when really, nobody is better than the next person, apart from 'philes',rapists etc. There is another theory, that when we pass over you have many mansions to go before you are finally accepted into the forever light as it were. How can i put this? you are put in front of a giant screen and shown your life from the beginning, a dvd of your life if you like, and towards the end you are shown your wrongdoings to fellow being/animal etc, and when you see the wrong things that you have done, then you picture the worst that you have ever felt in your whole life, a time when you can truly say that you felt dreadful/terrible/disgusted in yourself, then you times this feeling by a million, and when you have finished watching the screen of your life then people that you previously known that have indeed passed many years ago(you may not know these people, but they know you) come to collect you and take you to the halls of healing, now take the warmest/nicest/happiest that you have ever felt, and times it by a million. :)

And what do you base this opinion on?

I reckon that you never die, when this Computer shuts down then your motherboard carries on, your skin is just a Birthday suit and you just unzip it and fuk off when you die. Yes, we are like a computer in a way, a brand new one when we are born, then depending what you put into the computer over time then it depends what output you get from it, ie you put shit into a computer then you get shit out, you put shit into your body then you get shit out, your computer gets a virus,it slows down and you get the correct software to fix the problem, or just take it to the Computer fixer shop, if we as humans get a virus then we go to the Doctors and get a remedy,or go to the Chemist. When a computer dies, the hard drive or whatever you call it carries on, when we die our soul or harddrive/motherboard carries on, we can never die and imo, this life is possibly as bad as it gets, where a simple walk along a canal towpath or a picnic in the park is classed as heaven, when infact, we are yet to feel real paradise, so don't be afraid, we can never die.

But, as I've said before, your brain is the harddrive. When the harddrive/brain breaks beyond repair (ie. Dies) then it's dead. Gone. Kapput.

-- Sat Apr 24, 2010 3:12 pm --

if you don't mind me asking, what happened?

If i remember rightly he'd been to the local shop for a newspaper , and on his way back he peered through his front window and he thought he saw a figure , or a shadow , dart behind his door in his living room ..... he went on to say that his kid or kids were always messing around and doing that to surprise him as he walked into the living room ....... however on this occasion he checked behind the door and there was nobody there , even though he could have sworn he saw the 'figure' hide behind it ........ and the kids hadn't even been downstairs .

He passed away very soon after this eerie incident.

Hmmm, nobody ever mentioned that bit before...

Does anyone remember a documentary on the bbc, think it was horizon about 10 years ago, where there was a man and woman holding hands while they helped people, who had already died, 'pass over'? They got a jolt when they thought the person had passed over to the next level, having been in limbo after they died. They seemed quite convinced they were doing something paranormal. Hardly scientific i know but hard to measure.
I think it was a programme about life after death and seeing the light and loved ones in situations where they were close to death.

There was also the thing that happened with ciderjohn's phone when we were travelling back from the funeral. The song that had been played at the funeral was sent to his mobile, by some kind of automated selection.

Coincidence? Probably.

But still eerie.

It was from a very sought after book mate, something from an old Native Indian called Chan, can't remember exactly what it was called, sorry. It was only a theory Elan. :)

But surely the hard drive is the soul/guts?

Elanjo, sorry about the mess up on the quoting of you, but please unjumble it and give me your reply, if you want to.

Strange story but 5 hours after my Father passed away i heard from him again !
His voice ( in my head ) was cristal clear . As though he was sitting next to me . Also he sounded alot younger , 30 something . Then there was an unbelieveable feeling of love . Unless you`ve ever had this happen to you its pointless tryin to decribe how just overwhelming this feeling was .
There was a few other feelings at the same moment too .
