We get a big hefty fee when he plays for the first team?
Woopy doo....a few million, as I said a flawed system, I would rather have kept the player who is good enough for Barca's 1st team than collect a few million in a transfer fee, wouldn't you? Unfortunately for us that was never an option
I would rather the few million for a player who never looked anything special in our EDS team compared to his team mates tbh because either we weren't the right place for him to be or he didn't want to be here.
Exactly....so what was the point of bringing him over...like I said and you have also agreed with bringing foriegn kids in is a big gamble and a flawed system and is only done because clubs are always looking for the next big thing and scared of missing out on something

There is plenty of British talent at youth level our U14s , 15s and 16s are up there with the best in Europe and 90% of those squads are British players.....these proposals will bridge a gap to the 1st team for these lads hopefully

And we also have some real talents like Manu Garcia, Marco Lopes, Brahim and Zack Faour in there, which doesn't do anyone any harm, so why the complaints? If these players make it then it's a plus, if they don't they're potentially a source of income when sold on.

I don't see what is the uproar about? This would only benefit the Premier League teams because their "B" players would get valuable playing time.

The "B" teams could not progress to championship or compete in FA or League cups, so how exactly would this hurt the lower league teams?

Exactly it only benefits the Premier League and shows huge disrespect to the lower league teams. It would destroy lower league football cos how are fans and teams going to dream of promotion when you have to beat a Chelsea B team that cost £100 million.

There might well be plenty of British talent..and like I said..if they make it..they should make it on merit and not just to make up the numbers

Why should we as a club not have the choice to cherry pick the best youngsters the world has to offer..just to give 'Fred Smith' from Wythenshawe a kick about

I'm all for bringing British youth through..but we have a multi million pound academy for that

Only 2 non eu players allowed in the squad?

Is this a joke? So we could have Zab and Yaya but no Aguero or Fernandinho?

Apparently City, utd, Liverpool and Arsenal support the B team idea
Of course they do....bringing players through your academy will literally save a club millions....bring through local lads who care about the club and that is the ultimate...we aren't building and investing in the academy we are because it looks nice, we want world class players coming from it....same as the rags, dippers, and so on

Just posted this in another thread.

It's wrong. Other leagues across Europe do it, but the lower league teams in them countries are not very well supported. My local team is grimsby and if a b team got put in the conference it would be a farce as the league is already hard enough to get out of. They're some brilliantly supported teams in the lower leagues and there fans are just as passionate as city fans, why bother messing around with a perfectly good system.
