Because people are short sighted with even shorter memories. It's unfortunately not a problem isolated to Dyke. I think our academy set up would in time have yielded youngsters of the required talent without the need for B teams, though unfortunately no-one else will have the same infrastructure we will (which was half the point in the first place).
 
I love how football authorities think they're immune to employment law, they're in for a rude awakening. I'd like to hear what Scudamore has to say about this.

Just wish football authorities did not see it as acceptable to break EU laws on employment and competition. They will be wearing jack boots next and burning books.
 
I agree with that. You can't start refusing to allow foreign players to play. That is shocking.

12 non-homegrown players? Jesus, this league will be even worse in Europe than it already is.

They'll kill the spectacle of the game with a xenophobic rule. The best should play. Clubs shouldn't be saddled with substandard players to meet a quota.

Isn't that how Barca got Messi? Barca have tryouts all over the world to supplement their local talent.
 
Dyke is a bit like Canute with this shit.

We now host a global game in this country. Players from all corners of the world are scattered throughout the divisions and we see a better game for it.
He's obviously not thought this idea through either. Ultimately we'll end up seeing average English players commanding massive fees simply because of their birth certificate.
If he really wants to improve the national side then maybe he could start with getting rid of the football policy director (his name escapes me just now) who's 'hoof it' and 'don't lose the match' philosophy will set the national game back donkeys years.

The obvious problem with Football in this country is the shocking facilities we have for our kids, along with the win at all costs, get rid, shite coaches our kids have to endure.
 
Yes the 'hoof it' philosophy is still being taught by most coaches throughout the country I would bet. The FA should implement something (free) to teach coaches from schools, amateur clubs and the like how they should be coaching kids. Then we will have the ground work to build upon. These people at the FA etc. all think a quick fix will do the job but do you think the Spanish took that attitude? No.

Yet again they think quantity rather than quality is the answer.Wenger has this one correct....players should qualify by merit not their birth certificate.

The Premiership is for the Worlds elite. If our youngsters can't hack it go and prove yourself abroad.

The answer is always in grassroots. If you get more kids playing in better facilities with better coaching it stands to reason that you'll get more players of the required standards.

EDIT: I don't think we're missing out on the English Messi because our young players can't play with each other against league one opposition. The cream will always rise to the top.

Why is it never mentioned that our young players refuse to go and learn their trade abroad?

They would rather sit in the reserves than go play abroad.
 
Perhaps if this tool and his commission wanted to do something to help domestic talent, improve our national sides he should have withdrawn England from the World Cup.

Why should the clubs paying these players now also under extreme pressure to comply with some haphazard save our selves FFP regulations be expected to give two hoots about the national side?

FIFA have quite clearly demonstrated that they don't care about international football and as such I think the international game will struggle to see out the next 15 years.

Let's send the World Cup over the next 12 years to 3 incredibly undeserving countries.

Brazil, I've been a couple of times. First off the people don't want it, the country haven't the finance nor the infrastructure to support it. Their stadiums are not ready, the personal danger levels of your average fan will be incredibly high. Not to mention it's casual street crime & rampant racism.

Off then to Russia. A country with no tolerance of homosexuals, players or fans of any ethnic diversity. A country involved in an illegal war. A country with an entry visa of £100+ and the most expensive hotels in the World.

Then off to Qatar, A country so hot the whole tournament will be moved to the winter. Disrupting most major leagues throughout the World. The World Cup is for the summer. Do they suppose fan parks throughout Europe will be full of people signing and dancing in two feet of snow? A country with appalling human rights issues. Again with limited tolerance for western behaviour.

So as I see it, if your of ethnic descent, fancy a beer and love a chap, don't like being stabbed football isn't for you.

FIFA the governing body of the sport don't care about international football, why should anyone.

I watched the press conference and I'm under the impression that the coaching and facilities proposals will be presented in the Autumn
