Dzeko - How well did he play?

There is a certain grace about him, about the way he moves on the pitch, about the way he plays football in general.

This. Already the best traditional #9 I've seen at City. They say this guy has everything, and d'ya know what? I saw glimpses of everything. Passing, creativity, shooting, quick thinking, quick feet, aerial ability. No disappointment. I hope he builds from here because if he does, it's all ours. All of it.

selflessness is a quality you don't often see in a striker and he definitely has it. Would put the ball on a platter to a teammate rather than take a lower percentage go at goal (harsh to have the slightest dig at Tevez after a brace!). He left a great first impression on me. Hopefully next week at Villa we see Tevez/Dzeko/Silva.

also it's no coincidence he played better when Tevez started playing with him/slightly behind him instead of out on the left that Carlos played the first 20-30 mins.

- strong on the ball. excellent ball protection
- skilled. can take a pass, and not panic.
- good passer. surprised me actually, has a firm crisp pass and a deft touch as well
- good pace
- he megged a guy lol
- no goals, but you know that will come
- can link up play in transition. not a static player, willing to push the ball
- won balls in the air

8/10 very good for a debut with a new club, lack of match fitness general lack of fitness

dzeko played well today. but he needs time to get used to the players around him, and the way they play. dzeko has never been selfish with the ball (23 assists for wolfsburg), and that is a great thing for the team. (more goals)

8/10 today.

The best thing about Dzeko, as those who have been following him for a while already know, is how noticably his game improves and matures over time.

This Dzeko, in terms of multifacettness of what he does, is a level above Dzeko of a year ago, two levels above Dzeko of two years ago, and I can hardly wait to see what he is bound to be doing in a couple of months once he fully settles in the team!

7/10

It's his first game in a new league, new country, with new team mates and after a winter break. Nearly every player needs time to adjust. Even Tevez needed time down West Ham. The only exception to the rule is Fernando Torres. Scored in his first ever game, against Mourinho's Chelsea, no less!! Torres is the quickest player to reach/have scored 50 goals in the Premier League history. I know he's out of form now but it does make you appreciate him as a player. When he out muscled Vidic and Terry, I would still have him here in a heartbeat, if Tevez goes at the end of this season.
