Dzeko (Merged)

Only thing that's missing really is his passing ability and maybe the conversion of a few chances.

He's doing well though imo and it will all come together in the end. Quality player.

did you not see his assist today? he misplaces some passes, because he is trying to find the killer pass and that requires magic, but overall i think his control and passing is top notch for a #9.

his assist today was absolute class.

This is hilarious! Since he's come here he's had one of the best touches of any player on the pitch! He has that ability to look ungainly yet the ball sticks to him. A bit like Kanu when at Arsenal but much better ability. This guy is a real talent. He has players swarming all over him but manages to hold it up and either fire off a shot or lay the ball off. Once today he laid it off poorly, that's about it! This is even the case when the service into him is dreadful (which it often is unfortunately) he still controls, shields, and passes/shoots. Compare that to Adebayor who does have a poor first touch and then doesn't even fight to win the ball back!

exactly the point i was trying to make at the match today, at times he looks like hes clumsy and he's going to give the ball away, but his first touch is actually really good imo

Re: Dzeko

Speaking as someone who has been less than impressed with him thus far (although I've kept my trap shut because I wanted to see him have a run of games before I made my mind up), I reckon his performance level is gradually improving. Forget his goals return for now because the goals will come as he settles in, I've been watching his movement, his ability to hold the ball up, his link play, and so on, and all these areas of his game are improving after a slow start. I think he's got the makings of a top player if we give him time to find his feet. Played very well today imo.

Re: Dzeko

I don't know why so many talk shit about the guy. I like what I have seen so far from Edin, only goals are lacking. Ye ye I know that it is what strikers do, but I am sure it will come with time. Today Dzeko and Tevez really worked together and it was great

Tell that to Tevez! He got his 50th goal for us today thanks to......
.......... a sublime piece of control and a killer pass from the 'Elephant' Dzeko.

Can't believe some of the shit on here....

Just how dishonest are you?

Just how stupid are you?

You reply to one of my posts and attack it even tho you've failed to actually read it.

Er, no. I read it - that's why thought it was complete bollocks and replied to it.

Here it is again - seeing that you have difficulty with vision:

I point this out to you and then you quote me from a different post out of context.

Are you for real?

Well?

My only other reply to you included your full quote. Here, I'll help you out, seeing as your vision is impaired:

So, how, exactly, did I quote you "out of context", if your one sentence reply was in direct response to my previous post?

And you have the temerity to call my honesty into question?!

And you haven't even addressed my point about the examples of Dzeko's great control of the ball, which completely rebut your ridiculous claims.

Do yourself a favour and go and chat complete bollocks somewhere else.

1. You're right, it wasn't a different post. I was thinking of someone else's reply. My bad. But that doesn't change anything.

You've repeatedly now ignored the important part of my post - a word that I put there for a reason (multiple times in multiple posts) - the word "GENERALLY" (or "in general"... or even, get this, "overall")

If you think that bringing up 1 or 2 passes, as good as they were, is a serious rebuttal I don't know what to say to you ...maybe try a few more smiley gifs? That should cement your argument...

Seems that most of the shite is coming from someone with "JO" in their username..
That says it all for me. ;)

elanjo, either you simply don't recognise the difference between fact (Dzeko is 6'4) and opinion (his first touch has been poor, emphasis on the term which, like all antonyms and synonyms of good or bad can only apply to subjective opinion), or your arrogance is getting the better of you!

lol. You either control the ball or you do not. Poor is the word I've used to portray the fact that, for a player of his standing, he has lost control of the ball etc. too much.
I watched the game from the 1st tier, 2nd row today and i've got to say Dzeko's control was far from poor as you suggest. I saw Edin continuing his development and understanding of the English game. This guy is going to be such an asset for us. No doubt.
