Dzeko (Merged)

Re: Dzeko

Haha best worst simile.

BTW, not to be a pedant, but Dzeko has played 7 (not 8) games in total for City, 2 FA Cup, 5 PL (3 starts).

+ Aris

Re: Dzeko

He looked like he gained a yard today, and still isnt 100%. Hope he gets a rest against Aris, and starts V Fulham

Re: Dzeko

He's lost just like Silva was lost. I remember the questions about Silva lacking pace after the first couple games, and the worries didn't start to settle for over a month.

Main thing about Dzeko is that he's a smart footballer. You can tell from his passing and vision. His unfamiliarity is affecting his confidence and movement off the ball, which is why his first touch and decision-making sometimes looks 1000% worse than it did at Wolfsburg. Wolfsburg didn't use the slow buildup and possession football around the box like we do.

He'll figure it out, and we might want to help him by getting a quick winger who can deliver a cross and play off him like Tevez did today. His passing is too good to waste that sort of synergy.

That's AJ. He just got injured at the worst possible time.

Re: Dzeko

He had a good game today. God 1st touch, and was a goal threat all day. Should have scored his one on one, and should have had another goal with his head.

I liked the combination play with Tevez when he came on

He gives us a different option, but we need to get a consistent number of crosses in front of him...as we did today.

Any team who tries to sit deep and prevent City going through the middle will have to be wary of Dzeko coming within heading distance of goal. Already the best header of a ball I have seen at City

Re: Dzeko

Looking better by the game IMO. Will probably take a few months until we see the best of him unfortunately and he definitely seems to be a confidence player (as are most strikers) but we've seen 10% of what Dzeko is capable of and it wouldn't surprise me at all if he outscored Rooney in the league this season.

A couple of goals and there will be no stopping the lad.
