yeah but don't forget FFP. Didn't Khaldoon and Mancini disagree on spending not too long ago? Mancini wanted to bring in more players but Khaldoon wasn't too keen on the idea.

True, I was more highlighting the fact that in today's market only a handful of players, if even, are completely 'unavailable'.

I was refering to forwards most talked about on this board...(Cavani, Van Persie, Ibrahimovic, Llorente).

By "unavailable" I meant either already extended contracts or teams do not want to sell them - in which case they will just slap enormous price tags on a player to make everyone "cool off".

So yea - everone has a price tag but if teams want to keep players that price tag gets too high (football is a business, so spending does matter).

Based on what I read recently it appears none of the forwards above are REALLY available (Van Persie wants to stay at Arse, Napoli will not let Cavani go for another season, Ibrahimovic is staying at Milan, Llorente is sold already...).

Dzeko can run at players and dribble... just has to be confident is all. other than his goals, he has had a assists and setups, won a PK or two as well. stop bashing the man. he is a real pro and needed.

Watching the "all the City goals" video quickly makes you realise just how much Dzeko has contributed to the season. I think it'd be a mistake to get rid of him, a suicidal mistake if he goes to a premiership rival.

Not saying anything about Dzeko here, but the Castrol rankings are utterly pointless.

Because either

he'd be playing a lot more games due to lack of competition
or
they'd play to his strengths whereas we dont need/have to.

If his strengths are aerial ability and getting on the end of crosses then I seem to remember that he couldn't out jump a make shift center half in Tony Hibbert. I don't think he's particularly better at getting on the end of crosses than anybody else; the myth of a tall striker.

I remember him scoring a Brilliant header against spurs,its no Myth.

dzeko advocates seem to suggest that we should adapt our playing style to fit his strengths

that is ridiculous!!

unless your name is messi or ronaldo, you adapt to the team, not the other way around...

if he can't adapt, find someone who can...or preferably, someone who fits in naturally

like i said before, if we can get 20+ million for him, we could reinvest that cash MUCH more efficiently....how about a straight up swap: edin for eden!!

when edin played the first few games, he always scored.really well be adapted.City is always easy won away games.why it not been Plan A?
