Mario better than tevez
Tevez not a big game player

Both of which are 'out if this world stupid' comments.
Mario would cost more to buy than Tevez.
Age and potential weigh heavily in that debate.

If idiotic comments, with the sole intention to provoke others, weren't posted then there would be no bickering or derailing.

Getting back on topic, I believe we'll see an improved and more motivated Dzeko this season. I think last season was fraught for everyone involved with the club as the pressure to win that first premiership was immense on everyone from Roberto downwards. I also think it would be foolish of Edin to want to move unless the club made it clear they didn't want him, as at City he will continue to play games, score goals, and win trophies, even if he isn't ever the top dog here. The arguments about who's better, whether it be Tevez, Balo, or Edin, are all moot. All three players are City players and it shows how far we've come that we can discuss their relative worth to our playing squad. I suspect any two of those three are better than the forward line of most all top clubs in Europe.

I hope Dzeko stays, and would be more than happy to start the season with the same four strikers as last season. I think we have other, more pressing priorities in terms of the squad.

Agreed. Why fix something that isn't broken. We were the top scorers in the league last season. I think for at least another season we are set for strikers. I'd much rather our attention was on midfield.

I'm again going to raise the theory that Mancini wants a striker who is consistent and clinical to partner Aguero. Mario is quite clinical but inconsistent. Dzeko is quite clinical but inconsistent. van Persie is clinical and consistent, as have been three of our other mooted targets (Cavani, Higuain, Falcao) perhaps not by coincidence.

This sort of Mancini interview was more common than people think last season:

"It's not impossible to score a goal and it's important we score the goal. We had too many chances to score."

"We had some chances where we should have scored but didn't and we made a mistake for their goal."

"In the first half we didn't play very well but in the second half we were much better and had a lot of chances to score. We didn't score but then we conceded two or three counterattacks in the last 10 minutes, which were really dangerous."
