For me it is like putting the pieces in a jigsaw, you know the piece, looks right got the right interlocking bits, but when you put it in you almost have to force the blighter to fit, deep down you know it ain't right but just want it to fit. Dzeko is that piece, RVP is the piece that actually fits. IMO. :-)

I'm again going to raise the theory that Mancini wants a striker who is consistent and clinical to partner Aguero. Mario is quite clinical but inconsistent. Dzeko is quite clinical but inconsistent. van Persie is clinical and consistent, as have been three of our other mooted targets (Cavani, Higuain, Falcao) perhaps not by coincidence.

This sort of Mancini interview was more common than people think last season:

"It's not impossible to score a goal and it's important we score the goal. We had too many chances to score."

Although I understand the point you are making, I don't see RVP (or indeed the other forwards you've mentioned) as being significantly more consistent than the forwards we have. All players miss chances, and although it's something we were guilty of often last season, that type of situation will in my opinion always arise when you have a team who are winning a game. Psychologically I imagine players lose a little bit of focus as soon as their team is leading.

I have to agree but I think we now have that partner in Tevez. Remember after the loss to Arsenal he said if we had Aguero we would have scored and that Aguero is our best striker.

Yeah I suppose we will.

After a decent Euros, Balotelli now has a platform to build from with City and take than form into the new season. There's no doubt he has the potential to be even better. But if you was to ask me who I would want to spearhead my front line, as well as Aguero, it'd still be Tevez.
