Dzeko?

I think you're running with the hyperbole here, and I get the case that you're making. But if Nacho is a better footballer, at this moment, than Dzeko is, at this moment, than it is what is. Doesn't seem like such a leap to me. He's not saying he's Messi. Just saying he's watched Kelechi play and feels like he brings more to the table than Edin at the moment.

Again, not taking sides. Just defending a guy's decision to take a side, since it seems reasonable to do that.
He's not though. Even then, his point was not based upon current form.

The hyperbole around some of our young players is wild.

Come in Number 10, your time is up!

Dzeko still has the ability to score goals, no doubt, but he does not have the ability to keep other players out of this team, because his all around player and ability to control and hold onto the ball is not as good as other players.....and we feed on possession!

Put him on the edge of the box, with the chance of a shot with either foot and I like him. Put him on the edge of the box running in with Kolarov or Nasri on the wings, and I like him. Put him in a team that is under the kosh in a top game and ask him to make runs, hold the ball up, and support his midfield when he loses it....get him off!

He has shown he CAN do the business, so I can on,y assume that when Bony was brought in and he barely got another look in, he decided he was not up for it. When you are pulling down six figures a week, guaranteed, I guess you can make those choices. However, the people who are NOT making that are starting to expose his clear (mental?) weaknesses.

Always liked him, but can't abide lack of effort, especially when the ball isn't quite breaking for you. When it is, everything is effortless, when it isn't, effort is all you have to let everyone know you are giving it your best. That's all I ask and Dzeko hasn't answered recently. I wish him good luck in Rome and just hope he doesn't score the goal that puts us out of the CL next season!

think its for the benefit of the club and for edin that we part ways...he just never looked interested last season and he knows he will always be second fiddle to sergio....

we also are (hopefully) moving away from 4-4-2 and need forwards who are more capable to play in a fluid attacking formation......dzeko can't do that where as sterling, silva, aguero and even inheacho can

He is a miles better footballer than Dzeko, but Dzeko is a proven goalscorer & would certainly be more reliable to finish at this stage, as well as being a better header of the ball.

But of course that would be assuming he plays better than last season when he was worse than Kelechi's mum for a fair part of it. And of course it would be fairly irrelevant how good or bad Dzeko is, if he's not even going to get on the pitch, which appears to be the case.

I think he means that in watching him play on a field, he finds that Kelechi Iheanacho displays more technical skill or better instincts than Edin Dzeko (the player he's comparing him to) does.

Not saying I agree, not saying I disagree. I assume you're a City supporter though, and at this point we've seen a lot of Nacho. Not sure it's outlandish to pass judgment on who the better player is to line up against West Brom at this point.

That is exactly what he's saying, which is why he is being ridiculed.
And please, don't bother with another pm.

I think it's fine that you think Edin is a better player than Kelechi right now. If the positions were reversed, and he was attacking you for making that claim, I'd be rushing to your defense. What struck me as silly is how quickly you guys devised that it was impossible to know that, or impossible to come to that conclusion. Kelechi has played a lot of football. Doesn't matter that it's EDS, pre-season, etc... we've definitely formed an approximation of the player we have on our hands.

€23million is pretty decent business considering his age and the season he's just had, well done txiki if true
