Is being addicted to nicotine any worse than being addicted to caffeine health wise? i don't see many man up and quit mellow birds threads

I'm not sure.

Although I have yet to meet somebody on 40 to 60 skinny lattes a day.

They banned the sale of ecigs in WA last month, the rest of oz will probably follow soon and I'd imagine plenty of other countries won't be far behind.

Just stop your addiction to nicotine. Its easy. No cravings other than psychological after two or three days.

Don't believe the hype...unless you want to.

If you are trying to give up ciggies whilst getting stoned you are kidding yourself too.

Not addictive?

I wish I lived in fairy land too.

You should learn to read my friend, I in no way said it was not addictive. After 2 to 3 days (at most a week) the physical dependency has gone. This is not only my experience but also medical fact. After this time the triggers are psychological. Whether it be somehow not enjoying coffee or alcohol or missing a ciggy after sex. These are triggers and are psychological and are not physical dependency.

The tobacco industry love people who continue the myth that nicotine is so unimaginably difficult a drug to do without. It is their strongest marketing tool. They do not have to say it themselves as health programmes and users who are not ready to quit cement that belief in peoples minds. However, hundreds of thousands of people prove that that is not the case year upon year.

I quite agree -the physical dependency is really not that hard to overcome, it's those habits you have gotten yourself into over the years. Actually most people who quit smoking have done so cold turkey: http://www.statista.com/statistics/2635 ... g-smoking/

A lad i know from around our way has recently sold his and his partners e-cig business for £30 million, think it was called VIP e cigs, nice cool £15 million in his bank account and he's younger than me the bastard! suppose its better than selling drugs because its legal and you are not going to jail,i can see e cigs being the next big thing with solicitors and people suing when they produce evidence saying that they could be harmfull

I stopped 10 years ago. I used nicotine patches to help. The physical withdrawal symptoms were very short lived and nothing compared to trying to come off tramadol, an opiate substitute prescribed for arthritis and taken by me as an utter idiot without reading up on its addictive ness. Severe leg cramping, restless leg, no sleep despite acute fatigue for several weeks are well documented. And that's just trying to come off the prescribed dosage. I am getting there but giving up cigs was a cakewalk in comparison.

Some people are just Arseholes.

I started on the ecig around a year ago, since i started on the ecig i've literally only smoked 1 normal cigarette in all that time. I still use the ecig but i've gone from highest strength of nicotine to using 0mg nicotine strength eliquid and to only using it occasionally. Ecig are a great aid to giving up smoking and imo it's madness they're being banned.

Something to do with illegal supplies or something. (I was going to insert 'cough, cough at the end of that but my lungs feel 10 times better after tooting on e-cigs for the last 6 months :)....You need to remember it will make a lot of people very angry if everyone was to give up the chemical sticks tomorrow.

Nearly everyone I know that smoked is using them, and I'm seeing more and more when out. There'll be a fucking riot if they banned them over here IMO.
