Early Leavers

Sometimes I have to leave early due to work (though not today) and miss the occasional goal. Sometimes (most games!) I have to visit the toilets during the game and miss the occasional goal. Sometimes I like to grab a coffee, but go before the half time queues and miss the occasional goal. Very rarely, but it has happened, I am late and miss a goal. My choices, I can live them, and all will happen again in the future despite these threads.

Will you ever learn?

Why are you bothered ?

They leave early means less traffic for you and you got to see the goal aswell.

I always stay till the end and did see the goal but don't understand why people get so excited over what others are doing or not doing.

Christ not like the place was full and a great atmosphere and at the end of the day does it matter. This happens every home again, same old same so.

So what's the point of going to the game then? I go to support the team, and in 35 years I have never left a game before the final whistle and never will. To do so is to turn your back on the team, and your fellow blues who stay behind.

You see the game as some form of personal entertainment. It's not. It's your club, and your there to share the pain or the glory and in the old days fans used to get behind the team at 0-0 and roar them on for one last effort, or at the very least scream penalty at even the slightest hint of one.

Turn my back on my team because i left dead on 90th minute as i had a family commitment ! ive been season ticket holder since the 1980s dont open your mouth calling other blues who pay hard earned money who attend games.. Your a better fan than me are you did you go to every reserve game at home last year ?? but i suppose your still a bigger blue than me as you stayed 3 more minutes ?
Fair enough, but I'm talking in general. I don't understand the mentality of leaving when so much is at stake. Thousands do it every game

Due in work at 1730hrs..Was I wrong for leaving early? And please don't say "just be late"...

"How do you think it affects the team?"

This can work both ways. They can either look at everyone leaving and go "Oh, we've been awful today, guess they're right" and play out the last few minutes slowly and settle for a point, or they can go "Well, I'll show you what you're missing when you leave!" and do what they did today, and against Sunderland, Spurs, QPR etc. and get the points.

Again I will say that people can leave whenever they like as far as I'm concerned. I don't understand how they have the will power to draw themselves away from the game but everybody that leaves early will have a reason.

Wouldnt agree there, where I sit/ stand the same people go early, live local and talked all the way through about going to the pub after the game.

Work - yes
Problem at home - yes
Just to get to the pub - no.
Should people look to you for these rules on everything or just when they leave?

I missed the balot for "King biggest bestest blue" but congrats on winning it.

Because you're criticising someone's personal choice even though it affects you in no way whatsoever.

Let me tell you and every other early-leaver-basher on here something: when you are offended by someone leaving early, NOTHING HAPPENS. Absolutely nothing. Like, literally fuck all, so all of you get off your high fucking horses and let people watch the game in their own way if it's not causing physical or actual mental harm to another supporter.

We have this thread after every fucking home game.

To say "What's the point of even going to the game?" in relation to people leaving a few minutes before the whistle is a little bit dramatic, Marvin. I've left two games early in my life (Leicester at home under Pearce and Swansea a couple of months ago - one because we were 3-0 down with five minutes left and the other because I was already late to a gig) and like I said, I don't understand how anyone can tear themselves away from watching a game, but everyone makes their choices and as long as it doesn't affect me I couldn't care less what they do.

Football is entertainment, though, Marvin. Music is entertainment and sometimes people don't go and see their favourite bands or leave gigs early - again, I don't see how they can but it is their choice. To say they're turning their backs on the club is ridiculous and again, dramatic.
