He called in earlier today (see his dinner time post) , but unfortunately the beer was out at the time!

I doubt he'll be calling back to the Fletcher Moss today , it's a fair bet that he'll be 'three sheets to the wind' by now !

just got into town and heading home, the fletcher moss I just stuck my head in for a lay of the land, wasn't looking to get bladdered so I picked a few pubs to try, have all day/evening sunday for a proper crawl. Anyway gateway, spoons disbury, royal oak, the crown. all visited. the woodstock n railway, four in hand and the bar opposite morrisons in chorlton and the one next to it also oddest. Withington my mates missus lives up there so he's sorting out that part. As for trafford bar n cornbrook done before so no need to go today. we are gonna meet in the deansgate sunday and do them first as not much there so a quick one and then down south.

One thing I will say when I was in the crown there was only 2 old guys at thr bar chatting away, reminded me of a boozer near me when I was younger where you could go in the afternoon for a quiet pint, it's a applience shop now. gorton n didsbury are 20mins away on a train/tram and completely different than each other. didn't find any meth heads begging at the cash machine like round my way

Thanks again for the suggestion gonna have good day sunday I think

Sounds like you've had a grand time 'genie' , well done sir !

Yes , i lived near Belle Vue , Gorton , for eight years , until i departed in 2008 .....and it's definitely no resemblance to Didsbury , that is for sure !

I dropped my daughter off for one of her late night 'ghetto' parties at the Pineapple pub , just off Hyde Road , the other night ....... hundreds were there ... what a fuckin' dump that is , i couldn't get away fast enough !

Winters the best time of year to live in gorton to cold for the scrotes to come out and if it's pissing down that's a bonus,

seriously gorton ain't so bad I left it for 12yrs and came back there in 07 certainly not like when I was a lad, I live on the border of openshaw off Abbey Hey lane so pub wise it's pretty sparse compared to when i was a lad growing up there all about 15 mins walk away or tend to be a bit cliquey with new faces in the ones round the corner (went in when first coming back into 3 !st one ran by a rag who didn't like me n our kid when we were kids so not made welcome another just got grunted at and the other one is a furniture shop now)the 2 decent pubs near me I would say are the vale cottage off Hyde road and the railway off Ashton Old road .

The Pinapple yeah you get stared at and dirty looks when walking past it some days
