Where does it connect to in town?

Straight into Piccadily gardens I think. Goes under Great acoats st, and around the back of sport city. Then goes cuts down the side of ashton new rd across into a small industrial estate.

Makes sense. Thank's bud.

Is the SportCity stadium spot set to open still in spring 2011?

I wouldnt say so at the minute, they have so many different sections at the moment. I work on the Clayton side so I cannot really say mate.

Get a move on you lazy bastards, the lads in the UAE would of had this built before we were awarded the Commenwealth games, not a decade after it ;-)

TBH, City Street won't take long to put up. The structures will probably be put together off site and just lifted in place and bolted down. The halo will probably be the same. .

I can assure you the halo will take no time at all to put up, mainly because it has been scrapped!

MPT is the consortium building all the extensions. Laings, Volker Rail and Thales.
The line connects into Piccadilly railway station.
Spring 2012 is the date for the line to open to Droylesden. That not to say they may open the stretch to Sports City before that

I called in last week, plenty of paralympians around due to the meeting at the athletics stadium.

Noticed that outside the J entrance to the curly-wurly on the East Stand side, there was a pallet with building materials on it. Maybe there doing something on the proposed concourse improvements on Level 2.

I was talking to one of Her Majesty's Railway Inspectors a few weeks back, he said as stated above that the line will be fully up and running in 2012, although I can't remember the month, and that there will be a reduced service running from (I think) October 2011. He also stated that it's all on schedule.
