Straight into Piccadily gardens I think. Goes under Great acoats st, and around the back of sport city. Then goes cuts down the side of ashton new rd across into a small industrial estate.

Makes sense. Thank's bud.

It goes to the existing tram stop under piccadilly station, passing under the arches on Sheffield Street, then carries on through to Picc gardens as they do now.

There is a stop at Joe Mercer Way. I was there today and one of the fellas explained that the access ramps would lead up either side. You don't have to walk up (or down the canal) it will stop right by the ground.

Arrhhhhhhhhhhh thats not suppose to happen! If you're working on the line you're not suppose to talk to the public, we do work on the line development at the stations (all the glass and stainless steelwork etc) and it's a "red card offence" to speak to the public.....

I'd like to see that stand up as "gross misconduct" at an employment tribunal. What's the secret about a publicly-funded and well-publicised station? (Unless they were departing from the plans, in which case he'd be OK under whistle-blowing rules.)

Actually I do find it quite depressing how much disinformation gets on forums when a couple of clicks on google takes you to

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.metrolink.co.uk/futuremetrolink/east-manchester-line.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.metrolink.co.uk/futuremetrol ... r-line.asp</a>

I'd be interested in the source for the halo not happening, but could understand it. (Just a freestanding design feature, with no utility, around the store - sorry around the CityCentre.)

East car park is remediation and decontamination ready for any future development.

Trench outside east stand entrance may be flood protection - water got in last year after either - you know I couldn't remember whether it was a burst or a storm - but hey, that's what google's for:

It was storm, where after heavy rain the lift shaft flooded, and the trench outside is for a new drainage system to stop this happening in the future.

I was also at the stadium a couple of times last week and noticed they were clearing out the contents of the large metal containers that are to the right of Joe Mercer Way, next to the bins. Most of the contents were old display components from the City Store and old mobile betting kiosks from inside the stadium.
I was lead to believe that this is where a stage is going to be assembled for City Street.

I'm at an event at the Stadium on the 29/06/10 in the corporate events area in the Colin Bell Stand. I'll try and take a camera in with me to see how the upgrading of those facilities are going on. If i get to view any other areas i'll post the pics if i can get the lad to show me how to do it.

Its a Pension Trustee conference, i'm on a Trustee Board, to do with derisking investment strategy etc. I will also take up the option to watch one of the world cup matches in the corporate boxes, kick off 3.00pm, not sure whos playing. As i said i will ask to be taken around and hopefully see what the kind of investments like going on up there.

Sorry for bumping this thread, and apologises if it's been posted elsewhere. However today I was told by workmen in and around the stadium the "Halo" destined for above the club shop has been in their words "Canned".

Apparently it can't happen in it's present form, so it won't be appearing for the start of the season, something to do with a flaw in it's design and anchoring it to the ground properly.

Anyway shared just by a fan spending £100+ in the store today and asking a few questions to some "Navies" with high viz vests on, walking around doing now't, but at the same time looking busy!

Interesting.

TBH it wouldn't surprise me if City abandoned the City Street proposal until Summer 2011/12 season. Not saying that's going to happen. It's now mid June and work still hasn't started yet and the planning application is still a temporary one. Time isn't on City's side. Interesting few weeks ahead for this proposal.

I'm glad you bumped it mate as I was going to go and have another wonder around this coming Friday but I don't think I'll bother now.
